I’m talking about fucking popcorn. This is about season 5 of Stranger Things, the most anticipated media release in years; and I’m theorizing about Popcorn.
So, the first week of promo is going on, and we’ve got a lot of great content— with a slightly strange fixation on popcorn? The ending of the “ST Rewatch Guide” shows Dustin and Mike having a brief exchange with a bucket of popcorn. Then, a video on the same set was released the next day I believe; this one being more of a skit about Mike taking 10 minutes to make popcorn? Then when Mike comes back, he trips and spills it, only for it to start floating in the air as the boys stare at it confused.
So some weird shit is happening with popcorn in the promo. Whatever. This is just a silly video they probably filmed and decided to reuse somehow for promo— right?
Lucas are you eating the time altering popcorn?
Jokes aside, the fact that this moment somewhere in the show was deemed marketable enough to have a pop figure made? Somethings going on with this fucking popcorn. With what we’ve been given, and what we’ve been told about season 5 as a whole, I think we can piece together whats up with this.
With the upside down creeping into Hawkins, time is starting to get kind of funky. I’m not exactly sure what the mechanics are of this time funkiness, so I’ve got nothing there— but what I’m sure of is that Lucas is going to go make popcorn for some reason… And its going to be the way they figure out how time is working in the upside down.
If im not the first to come up with this- that’ll be kinda embarrassing. But if im the first person insane enough to overthink the popcorn… that might be worse ✌️
