HOW THE PURE HEARTS AND UNDERTALE SOULS PARALLEL EACH OTHER

Had an extremely dumb, but fun idea to share my interesting rambly thoughts on how the Pure Hearts from Super Paper Mario and the various SOULS from Undertale kinda parallel each other

(Warning: These will all be MASSIVE stretches and this thread is for fun and my opinion not fact)

RED PURE HEART/RED SOUL DETERMINATION:❤️

This pure heart is given to Mario at the VERY start by Merlon, taking the pure heart is a sign that you have the DETERMINATION to start the long journey to save all dimensions from destruction, refusal just gives a game over

ORANGE PURE HEART/ ORANGE SOUL BRAVERY: 🧡

Given by Merlumina after facing the massive dragon Fracktail, who you are forced to battle after he malfunctions, you need the BRAVERY to defeat the malfunctioning dragon who had fought you at this point

YELLOW PURE HEART/ YELLOW SOUL JUSTICE: 💛

Given by Merlee after Mario and his friends find and defeat Mimi, who had went an impersonated Merlee, as well as Enslaving several people to fund her greed for Rubies You give JUSTICE to the people mimi has wronged when she takes over

GREEN PURE HEART/ GREEN SOUL KINDNESS: 💚

Formed by Tippi as she feels extreme grattitude after you manage to find and save her from the clutches of fort francis Your extreme KINDNESS to her, knowing you are her friend makes her so happy, she is able to summon a pure heart

BLUE PURE HEART/ LIGHT BLUE SOUL PATIENCE: 🩵

Kept by Squirpina XIV, with squirps having waited for CENTURIES in deep space sleep in order to guide mario to the pure heart A PATIENT endevor where after so much time passed, squirps can make his mother proud even after she's gone

INDIGO PURE HEART/BLUE SOUL INTEGRITY: 💙

Given by the florosapien tribe after Mario learns of the extreme harm the Cragnons have done to their species, the Cragnons having the INTEGRITY to finally right their wrongs, and stop polluting the water the florosapiens need to live

VIOLET PURE HEART/PURPLE SOUL PERSEVERENCE: 💜

Kept by King Sammer, the world has its life cut completely short, everything vanishing, but the pure heart is able to PERSEVERE in a stone form, not being destroyed, and is able to be revived by Queen Jadees of the next dimension

WHITE PURE HEART/ MONSTER SOUL HOPE: 🤍

The pure heart taken the form of a being, known as Luvbi, who's home is in danger of being destroyed Soon after she learns what she is, she sacrifices herself to become a pure heart, her HOPE that she's useful to Mario, to save all worlds

So I’ve been thinking. So since Valeria is a Gorgon I been thinking about how Medusa and her sisters can turn people to stone. But Valeria can’t. Sure she can paralyze her enemies for a short amount of time, but she can’t turn them into pure stone. So my theory is because she’s a hybrid she is a weaker species of gorgon. This species could potentially be hunted by stronger ones and the stronger species might be able to turn them into stone.

Filing this one under a bit of a stretch theory, given some conclusions I’ve drawn, but I do think the commanders are partially inspired by the creation trio. Perhaps not to this exact extent, but still some fun food for thought.

Above is a few things that I believe connects the commanders designs to the pokemon respectively. Worth noting is Palkia’s top ridge goes down to the back of its neck like Mars’s hair, for space reasons its not shown. Charon is a bit more of a stretch, and Jupiter’s bottom bun could be tacked on to be Dialga’s neck ridges, which I feel unlikely. Liberties were probably taken with the hair designs if anything, but just fun to note.

To get into my theory proper:

Cyrus isn’t exactly Arceus in terms of design, if anything he’s more like a human Azelf, but for the concept of being god I believe he can suffice here.

Mars and Jupiter are Dialga and Palkia. They are the closest to their boss, both literally and metaphorically, the most devout. One could measure this devotion to the fact both Dialga and Palkia’s origin forms partially mimic their creator. They are often seen together, just like Dialga and Palkia are in old paintings and in the games. In fact, they follow Cyrus to Spear Pillar to guard him while he summons the deities. Yet they also reflect a bit of rivalry that Dialga/Palkia are often depicted as having. Still, they work together to keep the universal vision in tact, be it from Arceus or Cyrus’s vision.

Saturn and Charon are a bit more interesting. They measure up more with Giratina. They notably have a bit more distance from Cyrus, seeing through him sooner compared to the other two commanders. This distance is also reflected in the fact that neither visit Spear Pillar to help with summoning. Despite this, they are still entrusted with power over creating the red chain, with Giratina’s entrusted power being over antimatter. They reflect two stages in Giratina’s life, a stage where it was pursuing revenge and evil, and a stage where it decided to use its power for good. Charon is the evil part, deciding to use the remains of Galactic to extort money. The Giratina shunned by the world and said to be locked away in the Distortion World, because he is actively pushed away by the commanders and eventually arrested. Saturn is the reformed Giratina, trying to use the remains of Galactic for good and making it into an honest company. He’s done bad in the past, but seeks to rectify it much like Giratina after Volo is defeated. Both have committed a ‘betrayal’ to Cyrus’s vision of Galactic by using it for their own personal wants.

When I was a kid in the 80s I watched The Smurfs, and at some point when viewing it I honestly thought Brainy was Papa Smurf's son.

Crazy I know but hear me out...

When ever I see Papa Smurf on screen Brainy would be their with him sometimes even follow him around, I know he's Papa Smurf's apprentice but I can't help but notice things that I don't normally see with a Mentor and Apprentice dynamic, But I do see it with a Father-Son dynamic.

The way Brainy would act when he's around him and when he's not around Papa he would quote him or run to him for protection from the others or just to tell on the other Smurfs.

Not to mention the tone of his voice when he's calling to Papa Smurf for help or just talking to him.

In some episodes When Brainy knows he made a mistake he gets nervous or scared to tell Papa Smurf and the way Papa would scowl and/or punish Brainy is like that of a father and son.

Brainy would go to great lengths to impress Papa Smurf (much like how a son would get their father's praise) even though it cause nothing but chaos.

And I thought Papa Smurf has everyone and calls him Papa so everyone would not only see him as a leader but a father figure as well and he had Brainy do the same for equal standers.

The Baby Smurf episode was the one episode I had never seen until they started rerunning some episodes and when I watch it as well as a new episode with the Smufling getting told the story about how Brainy saved everyone, it tossed my Father-son theory out the window.

But It was still a fun theory for me when I was a kid.

I didn't get the chance to read the books the cartoon was based on until the late 90s. I have seen the movies and the new 2021 cartoon and I keep seeing that father-son thing with them.

I also like how Brainy has matured a little from The Lost Village movie and the 2021 cartoon.

Yeah it's probably odd but that's how I am as a kid I tend to spot things and think up imaginative stuff around what I see.

This headcannon of mine is purely indulgent, so you guys will have to bear with me.

All I want is Frisk introducing Chara to the new generations of Pokemon, cause my theory is that when Chara was still alive, there was only Gen 1 and 151 pokemon.

Chara never played the game, but did see sneak peaks of the starters. They liked Bulbasaur, and really wished to play it for themselves one day. Never did happen after they fell down.

Fast foward to after the True Pacifist run, Chara didn't think Pokemon would come up again in the future, and made one comment about it to Frisk out of the blue.

Now imagine Chara losing their marbles when Frisk tells them that not only is Pokemon still around, but there's now 8 generations, almost 1000 pokemon, and a fucking twenty three year old anime.

Chara would be fucking ecstatic.
