when you finally get grandma to accept that you’re trans and immediately introduce her to an entire fucking pride parade
In all seriousness, I kinda love that 413 made its way into Steven Universe in this specific way. Amber could have used Homestuck’s iconic arc number anywhere. (I’m going to assume Amber Cragg snuck the number in because Hussie officiated her wedding for crying out loud) 413 could have been part a a serial number on some random piece of equipment, or an identification number for a one-off character.
But no, 413 is Centi’s number. The first gem monster Steven ever fought, the first gem Steven tried to befriend, the first corrupted gem to be cured of her corruption. That is the gem who gets to be marked by the num3r4ls of th3 bl1nd proph3ts. It’s kind of special, really.

Bismuth: Still don’t have the slightest clue whats going on here but i fully endorse this turn of events.
yes good
Earlier in my months-long liveblog of this episode, I mentioned that the Diamonds certainly didn’t deserve redemption, but that that wasn’t really the point. Sometimes...sometimes it’s nice to have things go impossibly right. It’s nice to watch characters change the minds of people they might never reach in real life. Fantasy. Escapism. Catharsis. This is a show about emotions, about finding peace, and it’s not just the characters that get to do that; from what I’ve seen thus far, it looks like it’s for every trans kid who ever got kicked out of the house, for every gay kid whose parents won’t talk to them anymore. All of them. The Diamonds change their minds because, maybe, just maybe, you, the viewer, deserve to have them change their minds. Whether you ever found that peace with your own family or not, whether you ever will or not, Steven has. He’s brought about a change in their worldviews, in their hearts, and in their minds.
That’s a win. That’s a win for him, and it’s a win for us.
I think I’m okay with that.
