You know, I've been appreciative of the attention I've been getting here. However, there's a sheer number of people on here that I can just tell dm me because they want something more than just to chat or befriend me. You know, which I think is fine if that's even wanted by the receiver. But for me... you've never chatted with me before besides liking a post or two. Yeah I wouldn't mind meeting a partner through Tumblr. But I mean... I've gotten people I've literally never even seen before hit me up?
There's just something about showing interest in someone right at the beginning without any sort of context. It feels almost disingenuous and awkward because there's that whole context I'm even being spoken to because the things I post align with their interests?? Which to say that it isn't all that different from a dating app. But on dating apps I don't put all my fantasies on here. They at least know my basic interests. People here just know what gets me off 😅
But I mean if people just want to flirt on my posts or send me asks I'm fine with that! Just the context of "getting to know me" when the intentions are obvious is a bit... idk I can't find the words. Yeah I want a partner. Yeah I fucking wanna date someone. But first and foremost I want someone that wants me because they took the time to know me. Not just read my pinned message on tumblr and pretended to be interested as friends first.
I dunno. It's a mild complaint. I do appreciate the interest but I guess I must be demi in some way?
