Macroeconomics Chapter 7 Reflection
Since consumption is tied directly with productivity, facilities with higher productivity will experience a higher rate of consumption. This concept can be portrayed in national subsidies in education and health as facilities such as schools with higher productivity will have more students. As a high school student currently looking into my future, I find college to be a prime example of this. Colleges with higher ranks (productivity) tend to have many more applicants than schools ranking lower. This idea can also be applied to health and infrastructure as facilities with more productivity will always be more sought after as they are the better alternative in most cases. To determine the proper subsidy for activities that improve productivity I believe it’s important to look at the possible consumption of said activity. If the possible consumption is high, then the subsidy should also be correspondingly high.
Although population growth can result in economic growth, population growth can have many negative side effects such as over consumption, lack and depletion of resources, and a negative impact on the environment. Population growth could also be a positive thing as population growth also could foster economic benefits such as increased consumer spending, more economic flow, and creation of more business. Personally I believe that over consumption is a big problem in today’s society and that even I contribute to the depletion of resources such as natural gas. I also contribute to the consumption of products that negatively impact the environment such as plastics.
Subsidizing parents can have both a positive and negative effect on the economy. As I stated earlier, population growth effects the economy tremendously, and if the government subsidies parents, child birth rate will grow. With a higher child birth rate, population will grow as well meaning some of the effects of a higher population will take place. On the other side of the argument, subsidizing parents could contribute to a better quality of life for families, over all potentially contributing to a better national GDP.

Europe Is Subsidizing Millions of Paychecks. Companies Want to Keep It That Way, for Now.
Europe’s strategy of placing tens of millions of workers on paid leave has so far succeeded in stemming the widespread job losses that have been seen in the U.S., but now governments across the continent are grappling with how to wean companies and workers off the support.
The programs were originally intended as a stopgap. European companies idled workers instead of firing them, using billions…

Public Transit as a sustainable solution should be fare free. It's a way to keep #fossil_fuels in the ground, stopping $billions of #subsidizing, and helping our #climate by getting people out of their cars into #public_transit. Making a fare free public transit is necessary for fair competition with cars and $billions of savings. 🚎🚎🚎🚎🚎🚎🚎🚎🚎🚎🚎🚎🚎🚎🚎 Follow ➡️ @eco_modern_city Follow ➡️ @farefreetransit 🚅🚅🚅🚅🚅🚅🚅🚅🚅🚅🚅🚅🚅🚅🚅 #publictransit #publictransport #freepublictransit #farefree #sustainability #bus #brt #subway #metro #lrt #hov #ridesharing #ridehailing #ridership #peakhour #commuterrail #punctuality #subsidizing #climatechange #freethepublictransport #globalwarmingisreal #cars #car #subway #metro #ttc #love #loveearth #free (at Thornhill, Ontario) https://www.instagram.com/p/B9PCVWjnwA0/?igshid=1ovihwwm228hr
