"Dahan dahan kong inipon, Ngunit ngayon kailangan nang itapon.”
I went out with my friends on a Friday night.
I don’t go to gigs as much as I used to because the last time I did, I saw you, and my heart sank.
I felt like I was in a movie. I was on my way to the door when I was suddenly incapable of hearing. My heart was pounding, like it would escape my chest any moment. I took a quick look around me and fortunately, you weren’t around. I got myself a bottle of ice-cold beer and a place from which I can see TheSunManager playing.
It was Sugarfree night. I closed my eyes. You were nowhere to be seen but I can feel your arms around me. Like you normally do whenever we catch gigs like this one. It felt so real that I had to open my eyes to check if I was only imagining things. Sure enough, I was.
You never seem to leave my thoughts. You are always here with me, even at times when I would beg the universe for this to stop. You are with me everywhere I go. And maybe that’s the curse that comes with loving someone so true. They will stay with you long after the hearts have drifted apart.
Maybe there are just some things that will remind me of you. Maybe there will be places that will never be the same again. Or songs that will never sound the same, hearts that will never be whole again.
A lot has changed but that tiny spark of hoping you’d come home to me again stays with me. I hope you’d find your way back.
I went home that night with a heavy heart (as usual), and a bigger void. Watching TheSunManager + Ben & Ben doing covers of Sugarfree songs is something you’re not supposed to do if you’re going through something like this. Be kind to yourselves, and stay. away.
...or not. Haha. Don’t listen to me, I’m stupid.
But at any rate,
“Magpapaalam na sa’yo ang aking kwarto, Magpapaalam na sa’yo ang aking kwarto, Magpapaalam na sa’yo..”
Miss na miss na kita, hassle.
