Happy Pride Month! 🏳️🌈 Today seems like a good day to:
Tell all my trans friends that I love you so goddamn much and I'm so happy you're here. No matter where you are in the world or how you exist in it, I love you and things are better with you here. 💕
Tell my aspec friends that you are 2000% valid, whole, amazing human beings who definitely belong in the LGBTQIA+ community. You are worthy and deserving of love and understanding, and others are so lucky to have your love and friendship.
Tell my questioning friends that the community is open to you too! This community is here to provide a loving, safe space for you to be messy and vulnerable and to try new things and rediscover yourself. Your labels may change or even no longer apply, and that's okay! Just be gentle and give yourself permission to *not know* for certain how you feel. Remember that even the slightest question in your mind is valid and worth exploring. I (and others) am here to love you fiercely and give you the space to start untangling the feelings you've been carrying around all this time.
Tell queer people of color, fat queers, young and old queers, disabled queers, neurodivergent queers: I see you! I love you! You're definitely here, existing in the world! You are allowed just as much as anyone else to have complex relationships with your identities, and to shape them as much as they shape you. They're just as valid and beautiful on you as they are on anyone else.
Anyone else who I haven't mentioned specifically--you're important to me too! Though we may all have different experiences and we may still mess up and hurt each other sometimes, being a part of the LGBTQIA+ community is a promise to each other to listen and learn and grow, and to fight to make the world a better place for all of us. We are strongest when we all stick together, and fuck if we're gonna leave anyone behind. No suffering is acceptable or negligible, and I'm fighting for you whether you're 1 in 10, or 1 in a million. 💕
So Happy Pride Month! I love the fuck out of all of you, and if you ever feel alone or overwhelmed or discouraged or confused, send me an ask or a message and I'll do my best to turn a hug into words for you. 💕

3 - How do you flirt?
Oooo you really want to know, huh? *flutters eyelashes* *wiggles hips* *unfurls my bat wings and soars away into the night sky*
Jk, so my relationship with flirting is weird. I flirt pretty loudly and openly with/at my close friends. But when I find somebody that I actually want to *flirt* with, it's like all my brain cells except two shut down, and one is saying, "Hey that person is cute. Talk to them, maybe?" while the other one is just screaming "RUN!!! RUUUN!!!" So yeah. I'm not good at flirting (or handling the suspense), so usually I have teeny awkward conversations and make dumb jokes with the person for months until the thought pops into my head that "I Will Regret Not Asking Them Out More Than I Will Regret Being Rejected", and then I open my big mouth and blurt out "I like you" in some fashion or another. (Lmao I gave someone a house plant once and said it "reminded me of her because it was cute", and then proceeded to almost pass out.)
Basically I'm a disaster and I just have to hope that people will be understanding about it. Fortunately, a few have been!
4 - Which fictional character(s) do you relate to the most, and why?
Hmmm. This is going to be a very weird mish mash of characters, but stay with me: 1) Fakir from Princess Tutu, 2) Jane Bennett from Pride and Prejudice, and 3) Mabel from Gravity Falls. Fakir because he broods and is an idiot when he's in love; he also takes self reflection pretty seriously and puts in the work to reform his toxic behaviors. Jane Bennett because she's sweet and has basically no armor against the world or the people in it, so she can easily get pushed around until she takes a stand. Also she can maintain a crush on someone for upwards of a year with zero contact? (Ouch, calling myself out real hard with this one). And Mabel because she's got a brain like a hamster ball full of sugar, confetti, and small explosives; she's small, but she'll fight for the people she loves; and she'll goofily celebrate the best in the world, even when it's a liiiiittle bit on fire.
*hyperventilates because I reconnected with the girl I didn't realize I had a crush on six years ago and the conversation is still going and we've used one heart emoji each*

8 - Do you enjoy physical affection?
Oh my god, YES! I love hugs, hand holding, playing with hair, head rubs, cuddling, etc etc. And then there are all those good little gestures like an affectionate elbow bump or a hand squeeze that says in a gentle way, "I'm right here". That's the stuff, baby.
11 - Favorite movie?
Oh no, how do I decide? Well, I've loved Pride and Prejudice (2005) for years. It's the movie I watch at least once every summer during a tumultuous, humid rainstorm (yes, because of that one scene). I love the teeny subtleties that each of the actors put into their characters. Caroline Bingley's delicately-covered smile and head sway, as she trails haughtily away. Bingley's furious backpedaling and strangled look after he accidentally says he's *delighted* that Jane is sick. The way Elizabeth and Darcy sway towards each other, look at each other's lips, and gasp even though they were just about to throw hands two seconds earlier. And then there's just.... the moping and the pining and the social awkwardness from EVERYBODY. It's safe to say this movie has influenced my writing A Whole Lot.

When I die, somebody please preserve my brain and tell me if there's silly putty and glitter in there because I have some suspicions
May flocks of doves sing you to the land of slumber
And may none of them poo on your car
