@sullivanrandomness replied to your photo “I didn’t play with apartments much when AL first came out, so I didn’t...”
I've played with apartments consistently since AL and I'm not sure I've ever seen it! Then again, I tend to not pay as much attention to fears as to wants, so it's just as likely I haven't noticed it!
It’s so cool to still be discovering things in this game. I know there is a lot I still haven’t seen, particularly around supernaturals since I don’t play them that often.
sullivanrandomness replied to your photoset “Baby Whitney’s nursery got a nice boost thanks to the treasure chest...”
Do you mind if I ask where I could get Roxanne's outfit? It's adorable!
@sullivanrandomness I agree, this outfit is adorable! It is by @memento-sims and you can get it here. There’s several colours, no preview pics on the post or in the ZIP file but trust me they are all good!
Here’s a fun thing: YOU’VE BEEN TAGGED! Let’s talk about your story! Here’s what you do: 1. how many stories are you writing? 2. What’s your favorite story/favorite post you’ve written? 3. Who do you personally ship in your story? 4: Who do you think has had the most character development in your story (bonus: why) 5. Tag 3 story simblrs that you’ve been reading!
1. How many stories? Only counting my current sim stories from the TS4 era because otherwise we’d be here all day! My current blog is Postcards from Sierra Nova. It's one blog, but several storylines, so how many stories is that? I don't even know. I have 217 sims, but only about 25% of them have ever had anything like a real story, however big or small. The others are just background fodder, gameplay families, and side characters.
2. Favorite? The seventh chapter of Drown, so #7.1 through #7.7. As a whole, Stephanie and Justin’s story got kind of messy and there were a lot of detours both in drafting and in what I finally posted (it ended up about three times longer than I intended it, lol!). But when I first started drafting this, years and years ago, chapter #7 was what I had in mind. It was the perfect nugget at the core of the whole story. One of my favorite moments, I think, was in #7.2: "first date at the end of the world," with Stephanie and Justin on that desolate beach and seeing the streaks across the sky and she says, "They're not stars." Yikes, it still gives me a little shudder to read! If I ever do a book version of that story, it'll revolve around chapter seven. (I'll just set the rest on fire and start over, lol! J/k, but kind of not... )
I was also quite proud of Susie & Reid's story "skills testing, parts 1-4", from the 2091 timeline. Re-reading that one still makes me tear up a little. I’m such a puddle of mush.
3. Shipping? I think I'm not hip enough to understand shipping, lol! Is it the same thing as having a favorite couple? Or is it a couple you want to be together who are currently not? My favorite couple is always changing (and is usually whatever couple I’m currently writing about, I am that fickle!), but above all the other noise, I still can’t get enough of Stephanie and Justin. 😍
I also still adore Susie and Reid, and Dallas and Lucy, of course.
4. Most character development? Either Jeremiah or Keri. The others have probably had more screen time in the stories, but their personalities and desires were pretty simple for me to understand. Keri and Jeremiah, for different reasons, had a lot more behind-the-scenes freewriting and exploration.
With Jeremiah, it was because he is very different than any character I’ve tried to write before. And I was trying to do something with him that I hadn’t tried to do before in a story. I knew that I wanted him to be subtle from the start, but I also wanted you to be able to look back and see all of the red flags.
Keri was difficult because she has a lot of very complex relationships in her life, and she’s made a lot of very weighty decisions that I needed to understand fully before I could write for her.
In which I spend a lot of time rambling about color preferences. :D

Yes there's a few colours I dispose of imediately I thought it was just Me :x
Nope, definitely not just you! Looks like we all do it. :)
ant0nink0 answered your question “Anyone else do this?”
ah , i love pastels , but i was playing with realistic things before , so i delete them everytime i see them ... and this is why my townies are corrupted ... i hate NEON . those bright colors ..i hate them
Aw yeah, I’m not too big on neon. I actually like most neon colors, but they have to be used in moderation (like accents or trim or something). I can’t use entire walls or couches in bright neon colors, it hurts my eyes. :P
illykitty answered your question “Anyone else do this?”
Any neons or super saturated colours like the blue screen mentioned. Anything else is fine. If I could make my own palette, I'd make my colours muted and dusty.
Ooh, I think you should definitely try your hand at making a palette! I love dusty and muted colors, so I’d be interested in seeing it. :D
allisas answered your question“Anyone else do this?”
Yep, as alienpod named it: the missing-mesh-flashing-blue (or blue-screen-of-death-blue) will never be tolerated in my game. It gives me the creeps. :P
Yes! I can’t believe I didn’t think of that one. Which is a shame, because I like that color in real life. Seeing it on my screen, however, is a different story. :P
eulaliasims answered your question “Anyone else do this?”
Same, I don't use a lot of bright shades. That pink and purple get tossed, and usually anything yellow or orange goes too (I love a good gold or burnt orange, tho).
Yes! I’m a big fan of orange and yellow, but I’m pretty particular about the shades. I love gold/mustard yellows and burnt oranges, though. :D (Those are two of my favorite shades to wear in real life, too!)
sullivanrandomness answered your question “Anyone else do this?”
Yes, there is a shade of purple that I refer to as bright/dark purple. It burns my eyes and I immediately get rid of anything in that colour!
I’m pretty sure I know exactly which shade you’re thinking of, and I toss that one, too! :)
ajaysims answered your question “Anyone else do this?”
I hadn't really thought about it before, but I do tend to delete dark green stuff x.x generally if there's a whole bunch of colours I restrict myself to one of black, white, brown, red, orange, yellow, light green, turquoise, light blue, purple, pink
Oooh, I love dark green! :3 But I find that it doesn’t always translate well in CC (especially furniture), so I wind up getting rid of it, too. It’s smart to limit yourself to certain colors - if I weren’t so indecisive and forever changing my palette preferences, I’d try to do that, too!
discombobulatedmirrortron answered your question “Anyone else do this?”
i'm the opposite in that i keep all my purple items, aha. i delete too light pastels myself, or dark earth tones
Hahah, that’s what’s so cool about the community! Everyone has such different color preferences. When I see people like @lilithpleasant or @dirk-dreamer use pink, purple, and pastels in their decorating, I always tell myself I should give it another try! But then I get in-game and hate everything I do and fall back into the same color schemes, lmao.
alienpod answered your question “Anyone else do this?”
periwinkle is the worst, but that missing-mesh-flashing-blue is a close second
YES! ANOTHER PERIWINKLE HATER! I thought it was just me, like honestly I see that color everywhere and I thought I was weird for not liking it. Like, it’s not eye-searingly bright, it even looks like a relaxing color, but I just hate it?! And of course, missing-mesh-flashing-blue! How could I forget?
vampireprincessmaria answered your question “Anyone else do this?”
I hate certain shades of purple and turquoise. Unfortunately I do like light, bright AND dark colours, so there's far too much stuff in my Downloads folder.
Hahaha, I’m sure there’s too much in mine too! A lot of times it depends on the CC, some clothing/furniture/deco looks better in bright colors, and some looks better in darker colors. For example, I tend to use darker/muted colors for my build mode stuff, like walls and floors. But I don’t mind some bright colors in my bodyshop folder or decorating. :)
soo-bee-well answered your question “Anyone else do this?”
I'm like this too. I always discard pastels, most neons, all oranges, browns and yellow-ish shades of green. >.<
I love orange, brown, and green in real life, but I’m pretty picky about the shades I used in my TS2 game. At least we know we have some semblance of self-control over our downloads folder - we can cull the colors we don’t like! :P
holleyberry answered your question “Anyone else do this?”
That neon green. It hurts my eyes. Also that bright pink can go. I like pastels, but not bright, or neon colors.
Oh God, yes, that neon green! I don’t know how some people are able to use such bright color palettes in their games. A lot of the colors are pretty, sure, but my eyes! They burn! I sometimes wonder if it’s just my monitor, or I’m just getting old and my eyes can’t handle these things, haha.
@sullivanrandomness replied to your photo “The changing table catching on fire is our cue that it’s time to move...”
Out of nowhere?! I'm asking because I had a couch catch on fire out of nowhere (twice in one session) and never did figure it out. A very rare glitch, maybe?
No, it was struck by lightning. Wow, that couch glitch is strange. I will let you know if I come across something like that.

If you've given them both the Massive Attraction perk, then their chemistry would drop if you changed their aspiration, even if you changed them both to the same aspiration. But if they don't have that perk and you give them the same aspiration, I can't see how it would change. But I can also appreciate taking the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" route with this!
They don’t have that perk, so you’re right. Thanks for pointing that out! I am going the “if it ain’t broke” route for now since neither of them have that Woohoo with 20 Sims LTW. If the multiple loves/make out/woohoo wants start to annoy me, then I might consider changing them.
@sullivanrandomness replied to your photoset “Since several of my Sims are expressing interest in someone other than...”
I can't guess but I wanted to make sure you'd seen Cyjon's study of chemistry in TS2. If you're delving deep into the attraction system, you'd probably find it an interesting read! http://cyjon.net/node/86
Thanks! I did see his posts. He has a lot of great information there. I didn’t know there was a boost to attraction by being on Twikki Island, and I thought there was positive or negative attraction between every Zodiac sign. In reality, most are neutral.

I didn't even know two sims without pink or red hearts *could* cuddle like that together!
I think the game got confused and thought Alanna was still in the bed. That’s the only explanation that makes sense to me. Thank you both for commenting!
