What A Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong 🎧
Sumela Monastery is stone complex perched on a cliff 1200 meters high in the Pontic Mountains of Turkey. The monks built into the mountain, and had to make do with very little room.
The one disappointment was that those beautiful paintings were all scratched up by the many visitors who thought they should write their names all over them. This monastery must have been stunning once upon a time. I picked one that was out of reach without a ladder as an example.

Architecturally unbelievable. Sumela Monastery in Trabzon province in the Black Sea region of Turkey 🇹🇷
Turks did a Dj party in Panagia Soumela...
Why?? This is beyond sad how they don't respect our culture :/
Oh dear. At least I found out that people in Turkey, and especially in Trabzon, are very displeased with the video and the head of the touristic services in the area says this destroys their outlook and they accuse the turkish authorities who allowed this.
They are doing restorations at Panagia Sumela currently and they intend to register it as a UNESCO monument, which is good. The band claimed they did it to advertise the location. The problem is, I don't know what kind of target group they expect to gather at Panagia Sumela with the disco music 😂 I think it was mostly misjudgement and idiocy to be honest, not an intentional attempt to offend Christians or Greeks, it's because of the natural disregard many there have for Christianity compared to how much they rever Islam.
