Halva Smoothie (Cardamom Rose Tahini Smoothie) 🌸 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Inspired by one of my favorite Middle Eastern desserts, this decadent Halva Smoothie combines some of my favorite flavors—rose, tahini, cardamom, and honey—in one creamy, delicately sweet frozen treat. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 6 oz oat milk Splash of rosewater 2 frozen bananas 2 tbsp tahini 2 tbsp honey (or maple syrup for a vegan option) 1/2 tsp vanilla Dash of cardamom (about 1/8 tsp) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Blend in a high-speed blender until completely smooth. Top with food-grade rose petals and pistachios for garnish (optional). Smoothies are one of great breakfasts, snacks on a hot day, or a healthy desserts. Normally, I post tons of smoothie recipes on my Instagram and Facebook account. I rarely type them up on my blog, but I’ve compiled a few of my favorite ones that I’ve posted over the last 2 years. You can download all of them here, or save the individual recipes that you want.
I use Arbonne Protein Powder, because it’s vegan, I have a dairy allergy, and it tastes good. I don’t sell it, but I purchase it here from my friend.
FYI, I don’t like a green smoothie that tastes like spinach, so if you like to taste the greens, then these green shakes are NOT for you! I like to get my kids to drink green smoothies, so I want them to be tasty! Also, if you are not vegan, but follow a Paleo diet, feel free to substitute honey instead of agave syrup.
Also, this is the first bilingual blog post that I’ve written. My Instagram and Facebook Page are in Spanish and English, but I’ve never written a post in Spanish. So here it goes!
Me encanta comer smoothies para desayuno, meriendas cuando hace calor, o postres saludables. Normalmente, escribo mis recetas para smoothies en mi Instagram o Facebook, pero casi nunca aquí entonces puse muchas de mis recetas favoritas de los últimos dos años aquí. Puedes grabarlas o grabar las fotos que quieres.
Uso la proteína de Arbonne porque es vegana, tengo una alergia a lácteos, y me gusta el sabor, no la vendo, pero la compro aquí de una amiga. También, no me gusta el sabor de espinaca entones mis smoothies verdes son dulces para que mis hijos los coman también. Si no sigues una dieta vegana sino paleo, podrás sustituir miel en vez de miel de agave.

Final Day of Smoothies
I just realized I forgot (that is my family's F-word, my little brother actually collects on it for his swear jar) to do yesterday's post for my last day of smoothies! So, although late, here it is;
Beginning Weight: 158.8lbs (I know, I know brutal!)
Ending Weight: 155.1lbs
Total Weight Loss: 3.7lbs
Feeling regarding smoothies: I don't want to see one for a couple weeks at least
I feel significantly less bloated, although not 100% (its coming up on that time of the month so I am going to blame that). I did find I lacked a bit of energy over the three days, I was hoping the protein powder in the smoothies would help me to stay level, but I found that it wasn't quite the same as if I had chicken or fish. I found I really missed chewing my food, I know that is strange but when you drink your meals, it becomes a treat to eat something that you have to chew!
I didn't really find it that hard to stick to my plan which really surprised me, I usually think of myself as someone with little to no self control, so this really proved that it could be all in my head!
My first food after I finished up was a banana (weird as they do not require much chewing) but then I went to Tim Horton's for breakfast and had a grilled egg and bacon wrap which was incredible. I am looking forward to dinner tonight I think I will make some whole wheat pasta <3
Anyways, overall my thoughts on the smoothie "cleanse" was that it was worth while, I would definitely recommend putting protein powder in the smoothies right from the start, I waited until Day 2 mainly because I forgot to put it in the first day, but I think that really effected my energy level. I would recommend the apple cider vinegar, I really think that helped to flush my system a bit, it tasted gross, but it does work. I think I will continue to put it in my water, and possibly in a week or so will start back into smoothies for breakfast! I am really pleased with the weight loss, 3.7lbs in 3 days. I do not think that it would be healthy to carry this cleanse on for much longer then the 3 days, weight loss at that rate is a bit extreme, but it is a great way to kick start some weight loss, I think it is ideal for someone like me who needs to see results to motivate them.
