This is the first time I've drawn Sun Kingdom characters in pencil crayon, and it was tricky to choose what each person's signature colour should be, since they all wear the same colours! I went for yellow/orange for Dignity and green for Nobility.

If you don't know these two, they're sister princesses, but there's a 10 year age gap between them. Nobility seems at first like the more hinged sister, but she's just weird in a different way. (She also said 'when I was your age' as a teenager. On all levels except physical, she is an old lady)

Nature Goddesses - Sun Kingdom

Here’s a Forest Goddess from the Northern part of the Sun Kingdom. She has three arms, takes the form of her late companion -a Fierce Five-pawed Snow Tiger-  and has a soft spot for all Vanaras. Her forest is besieged by undead forces from the Dark Kingdom, and while she refuses to show it, her strength is not what it used to be. All her turquoise scars simply illustrate this, as Nature Gods do not normally scar, unless their lands have been scarred as well.

Here’s a Hill Goddess, from the south of the Sun Kingdom. Her cool fogs and rolling slopes contain bounteous herbs, rice and tea- reverently grown by humans who brave her mysteries to reap what they sow. 

They’re unnamed for now but contribute to much of the identity of the Sun Kingdom.

Finally got around to doing a map of Evenfall now that I’m reviving the project

Sun Kingdom

An ancient sun-worshipping theocracy inspired by Egypt and Venice. Wealthy and ostentatious to an extreme, a society of masks and painted faces, but technologically advanced, with armies of stone golems and automated chariots fueling its expansion. Its capital is Solstice, a manmade oasis carved out of a mountainside. Its sovereign is the adolescent Sun King, a god-ruler in name only, puppeted by his mother the Regent and her Vizier.

Moon Kingdom

A smaller but enigmatic state said to be founded by mystics and spirits, inspired by India and China. A diverse people of night-colored complexion gifted in sorcery and arcane arts, enchanting through song and riding white tigers. Its capital is Whitehaven, an alabaster city of canals built upon the water, protected by a guardian dragon. It is ruled by the Moon Queen (designed by a friend) a sorceress of war, pacified only by her ailing husband King.

I have gotten this idle dialogue from Carja guards in nearly every village in the Sundom. At this point, I have to assume that there is a sun-nation-wide trend of horny young Carja couples having kinky sex in public.

Was thinking about Sun Kingdom weddings and I've decided that:

They traditionally take place at noon

Sunlight and a lens or mirror is used to light a fire, and from that fire each person lights a candle. They then exchange these candles after they say their vows so they end up holding the candle the other person lit

It's considered bad luck if the flame or either of the candles go out during the ceremony

Epic prank on your mom, who really should remember that you’re blind.

Dignity is commenting on Victory’s hair not just because she’s judgemental (she is) but because in the Sun Kingdom, especially if you’re upper class, you wear your hair up during the day. Victory is kind of doing the equivalent of walking in in her pyjamas.
