On very hot days, you may see birds motionless and in somewhat awkward positions on the ground. It's nothing to worry about - they are taking a sunbath for grooming purposes. This young Blue Jay did that yesterday while sitting in the food bowl 😆 (I made the video out of a series of photos.)
