Okay so I am in the RWBY fandom and my favorite character is blake and I ship her with sun but I can see why people ship her with yang but all of these ship wars about blacksun vs bumblby just makes me sad and at this point maybe blake shouldn't end up with anyone so blacksun and bumblby shippers can both continue making fanart and fanfictions without so much hate about who's going to be canon.

to add to this whenever I see interracial m/f relationships where both people invovled are minorities people always get so much more aggressive w/ their "fight against heteronormativity" and often times it's usually white fans and that's so telling

oh yeah exactly. i remember being in the 100 fandom and shipping rellamy (a ship between a mixed filipino/latina) and the fucking amount of times it was called heteronormative or a boring het ship compared to the main m/f ship was so fucking ridiculous. it becomes even worse when there’s a black person involved in the ship as well. and i noticed here in the voltron fandom that it’s the white kl shippers who are spouting this bullshit too and it’s fucking ridiculous
