Suitcase envy alert!! Such a treasure trove of delights at our local Arkonaplatz flea market today. Browsing one big open air museum, imagining the stories behind all the little things. 🌞#sonntaginberlin . . . . #kreativkoffer #koffer #arkonaplatzflohmarkt #arkonaplatz #berlinflohmarkt #suitcaselife #treasuretrove #onemanstrashisanothermanstreasure #sundayinberlin #berlinbybike #prenzlberg #berlinprenzlauerberg #littleartberlin #littleartdaytrips (at Arkonaplatz)

Big Open Spaces Full of Possibility: Templehof
Every time I go to Templehof I get that feeling like I sometimes do after an amazing workout, the feeling that makes me think, “Why don’t I do this more often? This is so good for my SOUL”
Templehof is perhaps the most beloved park in the city of Berlin. Its constantly buzzing with activity, families biking, people wind surfing and roller blading, barbecues, gardening, bird watching, picnics, and sunbathers. Even on the most beautiful days the park could never be crowded as it is just TOO HUGE. Its housed on an old nazi airstrip which makes for amazing gusts of wind to whip your skirt around you while you fly your big red kite.
{ I have too much shame to take decent selfies }
The first time I went to Templehof I had been living in berlin for about two months. I was constantly a nervous anxious reck and couldn’t get a full breath of air. When we biked up the little hill to the gate I GASPED at the immensity. No one could have prepared me for the relief my eyes felt soaking up so much sky. I kept making funny, overwhelmingly satisfied grunt-sighs for the next hour as we biked through only a quarter of it.
Now, each time I go back I have a similar feeling of relief, like the park helps me sluff off the chaos of living on a foreign continent. I leave feeling I need nothing, that I’m ready for whats next.
On my list of the top five things that make me blissfully happy, this park, Templehof is number four. Its pretty damn good if you ask me ;)
What public spots in your city make you feel as alive, big and small all at once?
