The constant denial after Kpop idols get in scandals for wrong doings (drunk driving, sexual assult, etc) of “nooo he would never do that” definitely comes from this ideal of perfection and ‘uwu smol baby’ fans push on grown adults. This is harmful to you and the idols you like, learn that people are people and you never know what someone will do behind a camera. This is not completely the fans fault as it stems from the industry itself that romanticises people for profit then throws them away when they make a ‘mistake’ (which sometimes just means dating or marriage). Plus just the name ‘idol’ is for something perfect to worship. Fans need to step beyond that and recognize their idols flaws, and in the worst cases, understand that sometimes a mistake is not redemable.

TLDR: Stop putting real people on pedestals, it never ends well.
