i find it so funny because when i shuffle the cards, the energy is very light hearted and happy, i literally heard "ray of sunshine". and then i pull the cards and</3 very different story! okay, let me get into it!

four of pentacles rx / the star rx / ace of wands rx. additional cards: 9 of wands, 10 of pentacles rx

first thing i'm hearing is "he's too pure for this industry". i'm going to try and describe what i see! his energy is a bright light (i hear bubbly laughter, see sweet eyes, and generally sense a bright energy) but there's shadows looming over him, trying to get to him? it's accompanied by words like "he's the weakest link" and "he needs to be stronger". but i also don't feel the shadows consuming him, so there's some type of energetic protection? (it's a motherly and very nurturing energy for sure, like a grandmother would be) also, him being the "weakest link" doesn't mean he isn't talented, it's moreso that his energy is so bright and vulnerable ("easy to crack" is what they're saying) and i feel like his managers/company hate that? i'm seeing sunghoon in my head, how he's more stoic/doesn't display emotions that easily. sunoo kinda feels the opposite of that. very soft and childlike, it makes me feel protective over him.

career-wise he's not going through the greatest time right now. these cards are pretty heavy, actually, which is why i'm so surprised by his higher self's light-hearted energy. he seems tired of fame? or at least his reputation/the way people (or even his group) is perceived. i heard the word "deception". there's something wrong with their image that he desperately wishes to change. he wants a rebrand, a different way for things to go. he's completely and utterly overworked and he's on the verge of a burnout. there's a sense of hopelessness like "how long will i be able to support this..." he's soooo tired i just want to comfort him, his mind feels pretty sad and dark.

there's contractual issues. we already know kpop contracts are hell, but i'm hearing the word "slave" in my head. he has no other choice, i'm kinda sensing he's being blackmailed into doing things? or making certain type of decisions? like whenever he thinks about giving up, there's something that's brought up which basically forces him to continue... he's scared, he might be dealing with a lot of anxiety regarding the future. it's not like he has any regrets of being an idol (i do feel like he knows this is the life path meant for him), he just thought it would be different...

i pulled some additional cards hoping to end this reading on a more positive note, but with the 10 of swords / 6 of wands / 2 of swords it's not going to happen 😭 i'm hearing the company betrayed him, he's with his back against the wall and no way out. he seems the type of guy who's good at pretending in front of the camera, but i'm being redirected to his eyes. kinda like the expression in his eyes will show you everything you need to know?

1. Jake (Ten of Pentacles)

This card represents a strong sense of responsibility for loved ones. Represents someone who takes care of a household and invests energy on his and his lover’s security. His protection extends not just emotionally but also in ensuring his relationship future is safe and stable. (i believe i said in his “jake as a boyfriend reading” he is a very jealous person lol). 

2. Heesung (King of Pentacles).

 The King of Pentacles is a reliable, grounded, and nurturing protector. His protective nature manifests in more practical ways though, supporting emotionally, physically and even financially. His care is based on loyalty and consistency.

3. Ni-ki (Five of Wands)

The Five of Wands represents someone who is willing to fight for what they care about, even if it means going through conflict. While the energy can be chaotic or competitive, Ni-ki’s protectiveness would shine in situations where he feels his soulmate is threatened, as he’d step up to defend his lover no matter what cost.

4. Jungwon (Five of Cups)

The Knight of Cups is more of a romantic and emotional protector. Jungwon would prioritize his soulmate’s emotional well-being, by being comforting and through words of affirmation. Although his protectiveness might not be as out there as others, it comes from a deep desire to shield his lover's heart from harm. While he would protect his soulmate in the moment, his focus might be more on the passion and thrill of the connection than being on constant vigilance.

So, we all know Heeseung and Sunoo used to be quite the “lightning in a bottle” duo back in the day, and people say it hasn’t been the same for a long time… but is that really how it looks? Their bond back then was normal, it didn’t actually fall apart, it’s just that the image of them together broke, for reasons beyond anyone’s control.

Heeseung’s story with Sunoo began after a period when he felt very vulnerable and unsure of himself. I-LAND was a dark time for everyone, but especially for him, he wanted to express himself as a leader, yet emotionally he couldn’t always connect with the others. Skill-wise, it was undeniably clear that no one was in his tier, but the missing puzzle piece was the emotional factor. And damn, girl, Sunoo was one of the safest spaces he could have wished for at that specific time, when they were still green 🤲.

The reason everything fell apart (for us heesunists) in a moment was that they both had to move, and neither of them was ready to upgrade their bond, as we all know, schedules are tight. Nowadays, Heeseung feels a lot more emotional security because of the love he receives from people, no matter how he might be treated in certain circumstances, and he’s completely used those five years to better himself. I feel like Sunoo, deep down, always wanted clarity about his current feelings, either to completely release that version of Heeseung from his subconscious, or, if the guidance was favorable, to perhaps reconnect with him through a present-day lens.

But as of now, it’s more about nostalgia and fond memories. The Six of Cups suggests that Heeseung likely looks back on that time with warmth, and perhaps a little longing for the past, as it was one of the experiences that shaped him into the person we know today.

As for what Sunoo feels about everything now, the four Major Arcana cards tell a heartfelt story 🥺. The Devil hints at lingering attachments, feelings or memories that still have a quiet pull. The Tower reflects how the distance between them happened too suddenly. Sunoo used to open his heart freely a few years ago, but as he matured and went through more experiences, he realized that keeping the same energy with someone who’s constantly evolving, just like him, would be difficult. So, the door to his heart slowly closed, and he came to understand that certain places in it should remain limited if he truly wants something everlasting.

The Star suggests there’s a glimmer of hope and healing, perhaps showing that they still see each other as a quiet source of inspiration or peace. The Moon, however, brings in confusion and uncertainty from both sides (once again, the reading has been chaotic because they’re both so hesitant 😭). They may still be struggling to fully understand or process their feelings toward one another.

In short, it’s a whole cocktail of complex emotions when they think about their past selves, a blend of unresolved feelings, memories of the aftermath of their distance, a bit of hope, and some deep confusion. Alternatively, The Six of Cups might simply reflect Sunoo’s own memories; perhaps these cards appeared not because they reveal Heeseung’s thoughts, but because Sunoo was lost in daydreams, drifting between nostalgia and distraction.

I’d also like to point out something else, at one of the first group fansigns, Heeseung said that if Sunoo were a girl, he would date him. I was curious to see if he still feels the same way, and whether that “if” scenario is still something he would feel comfortable answering if someone ever asked him about it today.

And well, baes… as expected, tbh! Heeseung’s feelings have shifted from the playful, open curiosity he expressed in 2020. The reversed Lovers suggest he may now see the scenario as far more complicated, or he simply doesn’t engage with it in the same way anymore. The affection and hypothetical attraction that were lighthearted back then are more absent-minded today. Heeseung would most likely feel cautious or guarded if asked about it now. The Seven of Swords points to discretion, he’d want to avoid saying something that could be misinterpreted. He may feel it’s insensitive and would likely give a careful, measured response, if he answers at all (the audacity? -.-).

Despite this hesitation or guardedness, The Star in mix with other cards I mentioned suggests that while he might not express the playful “I would date him if he were a girl” openly anymore, there’s no negativity toward Sunoo. He maintains respect and positive energy. Even if he might find Sunoo’s character very attractive when considering the “what if” scenario, he’s still the down-to-earth Heeseung who knows it’s just a one-second sweet fantasy, and at the end of the day, they’re both tied together in a group whose main goal is to make it big.

I still have more thoughts on this topic, so I might do another reading or an addition later. The complexity of their bond is really impressive, something I didn’t fully expect, and I was genuinely amazed to discover certain aspects of their closeness and share them with you. There’s still a long way ahead for these two. They’re good as the people they are now, but that doesn’t mean it’s hopeless or that a resurgence isn’t possible. Time has a way of putting everything in its place <3
