you look a little sheepish -- tail-between-your-legs sheepish, because your stomach is still flipping and your hands are curled into the hems of your sweater. luke is barely consolable, even still, and you’ve cried a little too hard for a little too long in the middle of the night over the patch of fabric clawed away from his pyjama shirt over something you don’t know about in the cellar. there’s something lurking down there, beneath the creaking floorboards and dusted with old, rotting sawdust. but parents don’t tend to believe you, or luke, or neII, shirIey and steve, unless you have proof. 

            “are you still mad at me?”    it’s cautious. neIIie is still sipping on orange juice from breakfast and shirI’s gone stomping off with her polaroid, but you catch mom before she gets back to drawing.

character   in   general :  since  you  wanted  me  to  do  this  for  camila,  i  will.  i  really  didn’t  watch  queen  of  the  south  with  you,  but  i  thought  she  was  pretty  badass.   how   they   play   them:   from  what  little  i  watched,  i  think  you  write  her  very  accurately.  i  mean,  you’re  talented  as  hell,  babe.   you  write  all  of  your  characters  exquisitely.   the   mun :  10/10  best  fiancee  in  the  world.  you’re  an  amazing  writer  and  inspire  me  every  day  to  be  a  better  one.  i  also  think  you’re  beautiful.
