Bc I only half crave fandom-opinion-related violence, 3 and 22?
Thank you for the ask! It did not get eaten. Under the cut, I answer the same questions you asked me when I reblogged this ask meme in 2023. Did you know that? Did you remember that? But we never step in the same river twice, Goose.

3. screenshot or description of the worst take you've seen on tumblr
I've been on tumblr for a long time and seen many things. Hmm.
The white supremacist shortbread thing in DA fandom was pretty bad. The Cullenmancing racist tradwife situation.
I feel like I should have something very strange and amusing to share with you, and I don't! So let's see...
"Astarion should only be a romance option for female PCs if you destroy his self esteem enough to ascend him" -- obnoxious take that frustratingly misunderstands a character who might as well have "motivated by fear" written on his forehead. Like, yes, he hates himself; yes, he forces himself to have sex he doesn't want because he devalues his bodily autonomy; yes, there is a pretty obvious argument to be made that the PC showing him disrespect would push him in that direction. But the PC doesn't have nearly the sway with Astarion that they do with Gale or Shadowheart (or Wyll, I suppose, but you just make decisions for Wyll instead of influencing him with your choices, and let's not get into that now). You can only persuade Astarion not to ascend, and it's harder if the PC is romancing him. I suppose the whole argument is just an excuse for biphobia though. c:

22. your favorite part of canon that everyone else ignores
I don't think I have an answer to this question this time! I'm not very observant, and I don't have particularly baroque tastes in my current fandoms. I can't even say Ivan Jacobi, the sinister city administrator from Death of the Outsider, because kay_obsessive wrote me a lovely little gift fic about him a few years ago. There are really so many intriguing side characters and threads of interest in the Dishonored series. I can't be mad about people not picking up on neat little things they might find in a later playthrough. There's the pollyannaing kicking in.

I'm working on two WIPs at the moment! One of them is the fairy tale AU-ish Astarion/Gale fic that you know about, with ghost!Gale. The other is an Astarion/Shadowheart fic where Astarion gets turned into a bat, Shadowheart adopts the bat for ~3k words, and then for ~12k words after he turns back they try to pretend that it hasn't affected their relationship.

I'm having a really hard time answering this question haha. Emotional catharsis without a situation being neatly resolved, I guess? Irresolution as catharsis.

My characters bathe a lot. They are casually physically affectionate with their friends. They are embedded in a community and aware of social dynamics in the community, even if they don't understand them and aren't adroit at navigating them. They don't go to therapy or confront their problems using language or techniques from therapy unless it's meant to be humorously ineffectual or dark. Often they have identity disturbances or are observed to look like the ghost of their former self. They notice flowers. Idk!
🧠 Favorite headcanon for a character (most recently written)
Do I have headcanons? Goose, do I have headcanons?? Right now I'm writing a scene with my durge Wenneka and Shadowheart; I suppose a headcanon I have for Shadowheart is that, although she's bi, she leans more towards women sexually and emotionally. That's a short headcanon, so I'll come up with a new one right now: Shadowheart would fucking love going to a tea party -- any party, actually. She would be good at planning parties, too, particularly surprise parties, though she would secretly yearn to be surprised herself. Wyll and Karlach could pull that off for her, and then she'd get them back.

A reader has an emotional reaction to it and tells me so :-) or I get an insightful comment on it that affirms something I was trying to do, or the recipient (if applicable) likes it, or my beta sees improvement in the finished product over the drafts, or I know that I tried hard and pushed myself to make something happen with it even if no one else GAF. Some evidence of progress or connection made, basically.

Here we are! Please note there is #unsanitary humor and a flippant suicide joke under the cut. Inspired by facts that someone shared on discord about vampire bats... facts I can never unlearn.
“Are there any other bat things you feel compelled to do?” said Shadowheart. “Fly? Lick your hands and put them in your ears? Piss yourself?”
“Don’t be disgusting. I did not.”
She gave him a look and raised her eyebrows.
“I did not. Shadowheart!”
She kept a serious face for another few seconds, then fell about laughing.
“It was only once,” she clarified. “I think the bat was startled. It was pink, and I thought it was blood, at first.”
He put his face in his hands. “I am going to die.”
“It’s perfectly natural, nothing to be embarrassed about.”
“Do you know how many times I’ve pissed in the past 200 years? Of the countless indignities I’ve endured, I thought I was beyond that one forever.” He dropped his hands and looked at her pleadingly. “Tell me that only you saw, at least.”
Shadowheart tried not to smile, and failed. “Karlach was bringing me dinner at the time.”
“Sweet hells!” he wailed. “Forget mind flayers, monster hunters, Cazador. This is the end. You already look on a wounded man, and here you are twisting the knife.”
“It wasn’t like there was that much. The bat was very small, all its parts were proportionate—”
“If you keep going, I may just off myself now.”
“It was adorable. Sometimes it let me kiss it on its tiny head.”
“Not right after it peed on you, I hope.”
Re Cullen Dr-gon Age: whenever I see someone defending his actions because of his PTSD from being mentally tortured by demons in the Circle, I always feel like "Yeah that sure sounds HARROWING, doesn't it". Like it *is* traumatic and horrible; but all Circle mages are forced to go through exactly that or die in the attempt, and yet their trauma is never directly addressed in DAI. just Noodle McHeterosexual's
Also like... even if he'd never ever done a thing to hurt a single mage in all his days prior to Broken Circle and what happened to him wasn't in any way similar to the Harrowing, he still wouldn't have the right to take his trauma out on others?????? That's not how it works?????
But yeah, if a mage ever so much as says an unkind word to a Templar because Templars tortured them for years they're treated like they're just being so mean and unfair and don't they know that most Templars are totally nice and just ("just") lock children up forever for being born and only kill them if they get mad about being locked up. Meanwhile poor sweet baby Cullen got tortured by demons, so you know, if he wants to torture a bunch of children and young adults with demons (and also more traditional methods) that's just fair play! Because in case you forgot, he was tortured. By demons. Who were also torturing all the surviving mages in the tower and they weren't allowed to so much as show how exhausted and terrified they were or Cullen and his buddies would murder them, but we don't talk about that. Nor do we talk about how if you play a mage your introduction to Cullen is him helping to torture you, the teenage/early twenties Warden, with demons! And then casually informing you that he doesn't know what possession looks like and so would have just killed you stone dead if someone else told him to! HAVE I MENTIONED THAT CULLEN WAS TORTURED YET.
Essentially Cullen was a terrible choice to make into this poor, sweet innocent tormented baby. Pick someone who isn't human scum using his trauma as an excuse to be cruel to people who've never wronged him, Bioware. I don't think that's a high bar.
Listen I don't have the slightest idea how it would work but you best believe someday I'm going to squish Marble Hornets and Lost together and create the most niche crossover fic of all time
I haven't even met Jean Elysium yet except in the backgeound over the phone but that post is still hilarious x) It's interesting seeing like, half the fandom (in my orbit & that mention him) all "He thought Harry died! Have some compassion!" And then rhe other half like "Hmmmm No I don't think I will"
@ask-sunrise-tune my part of th art trade nwn; i had alittle fun doing nd messing with this one too msry if the background is bad i tried. but it helped me learn alil also sry for the cartoony stereo. i made a version where i took that out incase it bursts your bubbles nwn; but yay dundun
The crowd would like to hear about 'Mintheart' (which sounds like a nice dessert, this is not a pun) please! Also Lurue's Dream which I'm guessing is the theatrical unicorns??
:3 hello and thank you, the crowd!
Mintheart: more of this series. Miss Minty Mints is gonna be physically and emotionally vulnerable, which, as everyone knows, is a state of being that she loves to experience. The rebellious Sharran novices and their kidnapping plots are doing a lot of heavy lifting in some of these WIPs. I would include a snippet but the only usable material I have written rn is smut whoops
Lurue's Dream is indeed the one with the unicorn AmDram. I've been talking about this for monthsss lol but basically: Several years post-game, Shadowheart and Astarion take a path through the Lost Hills while traveling from Waterdeep to Neverwinter. As it happens to be midsummer night, they get spirited off to the Place of the Unicorn, where the goddess Lurue and her retinue of 12 silver unicorns put them and also a pack of werewolves through some convoluted metaphorical nonsense. (That is where the plays kick in.) [Garth Marenghi voice] Put conventional logic to one side, and enjoy. No but really it's all going to be a lot of dreamy stuff that takes place over one night. The werewolves aren't important, they're just also there, sort of like when you go to a haunted house or something and there's another tour group going on a different path from yours (NB: I have never been to a haunted house).
