Dick Butkus!!! He's what football means to me. I grew up watching this man kick ass ass as a kid. He played for the Bears. He was tough as tough can be, and he played football the way i did with my friends. I love this guy!! As a kid, my son loved his name. He thought it was hilarious. He once asked me how a guy could go around with a name like that. I said to him that Dick Butkus was so strong and tough that he could do whatever he wanted to do. I asked him if he wanted to walk up to this man and tell him his name made him laugh. He understood at that point 🤣😁🤣😍 I gotta admit... it is a funny name... Dick Butkus (butt kiss) 😁🤣💋
Chris Farley was hilarious as the super fan on SNL!! I love this guy, too. 😁🤣😍
Happy Easter!
Buckle in, y'all, I'm about to describe my day (MILD RELIGIOUS MENTIONING):
So it started with dad getting ticked off that someone took grandma's usual space at church, for the service (turned out that a neighbor had extra family, they apologized, no one but Dad cared)
But he made that a problem up until the preacher started, and as soon as we headed home
I woke up at 730am, put on a suit and tie, and shaved for this. At least Grandma said I look handsome
While I was chopping lettuce for the salad, my lil bro thought it was funny to show me this new stupid Manosphere video clip going 'Imagine chopping lettuce as A MAN-homosexual!'. And I'll give him that, as a gay man chopping lettuce, very fitting, those chuds have finally figured us out
They know too much
While waiting for the ham to be done, there was an argument over what we should watch, it was decided we'd watch a show no one would have any real issues with
This show was 2 Broke Girls
I don't know why it was 2 Broke Girls, why was this the 'safe' show, I've watched so much of it now
But it's alright, because my older bro got sick of his kids, and told my nephew 'Your Uncle Doyle likes that junk, go talk to him!'
So I spent my day getting the LOOOOORE of Poppy Playtime, my nephew carries those plushies everywhere. At least we found some common ground, when I told him I like Game Theory too
I'm officially Cool Uncle Doyle, even if 'Ugh, fnaf is for OLD people!!', I turn 32 this summer, for the record
Why did my dad name me 'Doyle' (yes, after the Sherlock writer)? Why, Father, why? Arthur and Conan were RIGHT there. But he's already a few beers deep, so today is not the day to drag that out again
But I know more about a 6 year olds retelling of Poppy playtime than about my own life now, at least. I'm sure that'll come in handy
In between this, I'm getting my niece raving about unicorns. She likes glitter, same, more common ground with these sugar crazed lunatics (I love these kids, but glad they ain't mine)
Petting dogs and a chill cat, has kept my sanity
By the way, 2 Broke Girls is still playing, it has always been playing, it will never stop
For, I'm sure /completely unrelated\ reasons, I'm considering smoking again
Watching the kids get excited over the egg hunt and baskets was adorable
I'm leaving with Peeps and a bag of kit kats and peanut butter chocolate shaped like bunnies, because I may be a grown man, but I'm still my grandma's grandkid, bless her
Dad walks by with a plate of olives, he distinctly remembers that in 1999 I loved them, why am I being so difficult, but at least you did SOMETHING with your hair, Son
As always, the food is absolutely delicious. Special shout-out to my SIL, who made these adorable Easter themed cookie bites, and the Mac and cheese
She let me take home some mac and cheese, and thanked me for spending the entire day with a Poppy playtime encyclopedia, I mean my nephew, so they could get a break for a few hours
No big fights or any real drama, and I /love\ these people, but glad I've fulfilled half of my yearly Church time (see ya at Christmas), and have a few months until the 4th of July
And I suppose I'd say I had a good day, but y'all need to share this adventure with me. So I hope you enjoy this rambling novel and the drawing I threw together for it (I cannot draw kids or my grandma's house, holy crap)
So, so, so, the PROTOTYPE-
