Superbook (2011) Has Better Awesome And Accurate Designs For Saint Peter And Lucifer Satan Than Hazbin Hotel/Helluva Boss

A children's show knows better design for Satan/Lucifer and Saint Peter. Also they commit to actually make them Bible accurate rather than their supposed adult selves.

The first time i watched the Superbook reboot i can't help but wonder....

Okay one thing that always bugged about reboot superbook was how there was no characters with darker complexions despite most of the Bible taking place in the Middle East and africa. Like you could tell this show was made for the white evangelical crowd. So I made these edits of Michael with brown skin to better reflect the majority of the people living there

Also a lot of depictions of Michael have him be white (I understand historical context but still? 🤣). I want to challenge notions that white/blond haired blue eyed = good. I also gave him wavy hair to reflect water, he's calm but can be temoestuos when facing evil.

Oh my god.....!! Queen Esther looks amazing in my view...I'm going to study her soon.

Hmm.......In the biblical book named after her, Esther is a young Jewish woman living in the Persian diaspora who finds favour with the king, becomes queen, and risks her life to save the Jewish people from destruction when the court official Haman persuades the king to authorize a pogrom against all the Jews of the empire.

Even though I don't have any information about her yet but I feel that she's amazing. She's so brave.....just like those Jews I know when I study in history.

The Bad Superbook 2011 vs the absolute CHAD Angel Wars

Superbook Angels

Barely have personality except for maybe Michael

In fact Michael comes off as a deus ex machina/plot device than a character

All of them white with only variation being blond hair, brown hair or no hair

Borderline sameface syndrome

No girl angels

Dies too easily

Barely see them help humans which sucks ;_;

Only humans they (Michael) help are two annoying kids

Angel Wars Angels

Cooler spaceships/vehicle designs

All the angels have personality, flaws&quirks included so they feel & look like real people

Much better reflection of humanity bc there's actual diversity (three of the six are poc) including different body types, facial features, etc

FEMALE ANGELS! THAT AREN'T TOKENS NOR SEXUALIZED AT ANY POINT!!

Ariana especially is a badass and not a token love interest\damsel in distress

Archangel Michael feels like an actual character, not a deus ex machina plot device

Actually see them directly help humans

Not annoying kids well maybe except for Eli but even he has his moments of badassery

Sense of worldbuilding&lore

Unique weapon and suit designs (again adding to the diversity)

Strong enough in a fight but not to the point of being mary sue or a cop out

Next up everybody's favorite Archangel! I want to avoid "White = good" showing beauty goes beyond WASPy, evangelical standards. He can be read as afro/SWANA depending on the viewer.

While i liked the 2011 superbook one of my biggest gripes with it is how every angel was just white, blond haired blue eyed. So i wanted to depict Michael differently from traditional depictions, to demonstrate how anyone can be an angel.
