Chapter 2 of my Danny Fenton/Jon Kent ghostly mystery Welcome to Camp Nightscape is up! These boys are so adorable 😅 And have no clue what's going on!
Here's a snippet:

The most frustrating thing about this ghost popping up at astronomy camp? All the big group activities happened at night.
It made Danny's plans for after dark sleuthing a lot more complicated. He was going to have to wait until at least 2am before he could be sure everyone was down for the night.
Fidgeting impatiently, Danny tried to shift his mindset. Okay, so he couldn't dig around the site looking for evidence yet. But he could observe the camp trio's behaviour. Maybe a bit of reconnaissance disguised as innocent star-gazing would give him some clues.
He'd already noticed one weird thing - the trio seemed to go everywhere together. At first he'd thought the process of elimination would be easy. All he had to do was approach each of the three staff members on their own, and see which one activated his Ghost Sense.
Voila. Mystery solved!
Except they were apparently joined at the hip. Even when one needed the bathroom, the other two followed suit, leaving the handful of voluntary camp counselors in charge.
That would have weirded Danny out even if he hadn't known there was a ghost somewhere at camp.
The rest of the kids seemed clueless though. Blissfully so. Dinner had been pretty uneventful. After another patronising introduction from Summer, they'd been handed bowls of some unidentified meat stew. Now the group was just waiting for the go ahead to walk up the hill, where multiple telescopes were being set up to view the night sky.
The other kids were all huddled around the campfire, laughing and getting to know each other. The evening was still fairly light, but the moon was out, and a few stars were peeking through like pinpricks in a black-out curtain.
It was so clear out here. Clearer than the sky over Amity Park. If the circumstances were different, he might have even let himself enjoy it.
But he knew how bad things could get if he let his guard down.
All these kids could die. Because of him. No way was he letting that happen. He was going to keep his attention on his suspects. Stay vigilant. Not let anything distra-
"Hey," Jon's soft voice made Danny jump.
At his immediate awareness of that odd tingling sensation, Danny was surprised he hadn't felt his bunk mate coming.
"Hey," he parroted back.
"So do you have a partner already?" Jon asked awkwardly.
Danny's eyebrows raised. "A partner?"
"Yeah, um, they said there's only enough telescopes for one between two."
Shit. Danny hadn't caught that. He hesitated, torn between his desire to avoid the kid at all costs and his sense that bunking with him would be even more awkward if he was blatantly rude.
"Right. Sure, we can do that. I mean if that's what you're...?" Danny trailed off, flustered.
Was this kid's weird energy causing him to lose his ability to speak or something?
Jon just smiled back at him. "Yeah. If that's cool with you."
A few lingering seconds of staring at their feet later, the volunteers at the top of the hill gave a signal and the group began heading up to the line of telescopes. Jon led the way towards the last one, furthest from the trio. Danny probably should have tried to position himself closer to his mark… but he was having a hard enough time keeping his heart rate steady, let alone trying to come up with a reason that didn't sound totally lame.
Not that he really cared if Jon thought he was lame or anything. Did he?
They came to a stop beside a telescope and two camp chairs. Danny stared blankly at the device, realising with a flush of embarrassment he had no idea how to use it. Funny really, considering how much he was around his parent's crazy tech at home. But he'd never used a high grade telescope like this before.
Jon seemed to spot his hesitance and stepped in wordlessly, bending down to peer through the eyepiece. He moved it around gently, looking for their starting point - the moon.
"Looks like one of us knows what they're doing at least," Danny commented.
"I know a bit," Jon confirmed, eyes still pressed to the eyepiece. "My Dad used to set one up outside the cornfields at the farm."
"You grew up on a farm?"
"Metropolis, actually. But we used to visit my grandma every year. Before she died."
"Oh. Sorry," Danny said awkwardly.
"It's cool. That was a few years back. We've actually been living there since, but I'm hoping to get back to Metropolis after High School."
Must be nice. Having plans for after high school. Danny didn't see the point in thinking about that yet. He might not even make it that far.
A thought occurred to him and he couldn't resist asking.
"So, Metropolis... did you ever meet Superman?"
Jon's eyes flashed in surprise. Or was that... annoyance?
"Uh sort of. My um, my mom’s kinda friends with him."
Well that wasn't what Danny had expected to hear. He didn't know Superman even had friends. The only person Danny had ever seen him interact with was...
Oh man… Of course. Why hadn't he connected that before?
Kent. Clark Kent. Lois Lane's husband.
The Lois Lane.
Was this Lois Lane's kid?
Jon watched him carefully, then simply nodded like he was used to people putting those pieces together.
"Yeah, Lois Lane's my mom. Usually best to just get that out of the way," he sighed.
