   SAME    Like... seriously, it’s pretty jarring. I  can’t believe we were all so blinded by the fact this blind little girl was so powerful and fearless that we failed to realise how RUDE and SELFISH she was to the rest of the Gaang. (At least I did... aaand I feel most of fandom did too) (to be fair, again, a character can’t be perfect and obvs Toph grows out of her flaws (I think?) and her behavior IS called out IN the series although it is also GROSSLY excused as “being scared of being hurt” or smt) Like... dude the moment when they’ve been forced to spend a sleepless night escape and Katara AKS her (after two times when Toph didn’t help and Katara didn’t nag her) for help and Toph is like “lmao i don’t need your help to build my rock tent so why should I help you?”... ARE YOU SERIOUS GIRL? And when her justifiction is like “YOu need ME to teach you so you can’t nag me for stuff” like... damn. That is Spoiled Only Child 101 right there. Not to mention it took them like, 20 episodes to adress this isuue and it was played like Katara and Toph needed to find a balance like... dude no, TOPH’S SHANAENIGANS PUT THEM IN DANGER and KATARA WAS RIGHT TO WARN HER, what need to happen was that Toph needed to grow the hell up.
