Can we talk about how Dean does the most older sibling thing ever
When he notices that Sam likes Ruby or that werewolf girl
He literally blows Sam's head that he doesn't understand or how he can like them, or they should kill them immediately
Or when he goes to Garths House and sees Beth, he's like, nope, killing is the solution
BUT HE LITERALLY KEEPS CAS, AN ANGEL AT CLOSE PROXIMITY OR BENNY, A VAMPIRE FROM PURGATORY, AS A CLOSE FRIEND. And he was with Anna, which again was an angel.
It's really peak older sibling thing when they think that when it's with them it's alright but for their younger sibling is like nope
So! Prioir to being bitten by a werewolf, Garth was that dusky muted green all over with just thag bright patch on his nose. When he got bit his body changed.
He grew fangs, his ears got fluffier and fuller. He grew a thicker darker patch of fur from his neck down to the tip of his tail. Speaking of his tail, it morphed into a fluffy wolves tail, which is topped with the darker olive colour from his original tail!
Other changes include his eyes, becoming slits with golden centers, his hooves spiltting into "claws" and the fur above his hooves becoming thicker, fluffier and darker.
Despite these very obvious changes, nobody notices? This is due to the fact that Garth is extreamly charismatic and loveable. Everyone is completely blind to the changes.
Summary: after fighting a Wraith in hand-to-hand combat (not the best idea), you've sustained a dental injury. With Cas out of action and unable to heal you, the Winchesters call on an old friend to help. Just one problem… you're scared of the dentist. Luckily, Garth is on hand to help and reassure you that everything will be okay.
Cast: Dean Winchester, Sam Winchester, Garth Fitzgerald IV
Genre: comfort/reassurance Word count: 2154
notes / warnings: fear of dentists, anxiety, injury, implied panic attack, she/her reader, mention of previous medical trauma
(I kinda based this on my own fear of the dentist and how I think Garth would be SO GOOD with nervous patients in his practice. I hope this brings you as much comfort as it did for me to write it... and be sure to come back for part two!)
“How you holding up?”
That was Dean, greeting me as I managed to get out of bed and come through to the bunker library.
I'd been better, but given the circumstances, I wasn’t too bad. The blood had dried up, my body was aching after last night's Wraith fight, but my wounds were easily patched up.
“Well, it doesn’t seem like I’ve broken anything, so that’s good.”
Dean nodded in response. “To say you’d taken on a Wraith in hand-to-hand combat and not come away with a broken bone is pretty awesome, I’d say.”
Sam came into the room, carrying three mugs of coffee. His eyes lit up when he saw me.
“Hey,” he greeted me, “good to see you’re up. How you feeling?”
I shrugged. “I’ve been better, but nothing’s broken.”
“Well, that’s good to know.”
I took a sip from my drink after Sam handed it to me and noticed a short sharp surge of pain in my mouth. I couldn’t help but let off a small wince. Dean furrowed his brow.
“You sure you’re okay?”
I nodded. “I’m fine, nothing to worry about.”
“Well, okay then, if you say so.”
I turned to the next case, turning the pages of books and surfing the net to find more information. However, there was a subtle throbbing sensation that would not leave my mouth alone.
We took a break to have something to eat in the kitchen and I picked out some popcorn as a snack. A mix of salty and sweet, because you know, both is good! As I put a handful into my mouth and bit down... Nothing could stop the pain surge that came.
“Ouch!”
Sam and Dean were quick to react, shooting worried looks at me.
“Crap, what happened?” Dean asked.
My hand darted to the side of my face, and Sam was able to deduce a possible cause.
“It’s your mouth, isn’t it?”
I nodded. “That Wraith punched me square in the face and it must’ve...” My tongue ran over my teeth, and I could suddenly feel a sharp edge. That son-of-a-bitch HAD broken something in me. My eyes widened as my tongue cut against the edge.
“Oh, no...”
Both Sam and Dean heard my muttering, and Sam wanted to raise his concerns.
“What’s the matter?”
“I think I spoke too soon... maybe I did break something...”
“What? A tooth?”
I nodded. Dean moved over to the freezer, pulled out an icepack, wrapped it in a towel and handed it to me.
“This should help.”
I pressed it against my face, feeling some slight relief.
“Thanks. This makes me hate Wraiths more,” I groaned. “Even painkillers haven’t helped...”
“We can’t just leave it alone,” Sam observed. “It’ll only get worse.”
“What do you suggest?” I asked.
“Contacting a dentist seems like the most obvious option.”
Sam’s suggestion made my blood run cold, my chest tighten and my breathing quicken. Here’s what I didn’t understand – I'd fought demons, vampires, ghosts, the monster under the bed... but the mere mention of the dentist was enough to send me into a frenzy of fear. Dean could sense that I was afraid.
“You okay?”
I took a deep breath as I prepared to confess. “You’re both gonna think I’m insane... but I have a fear of dentists.”
“You mean to tell me; things that go bump in the night are no problem... but a dentist is enough to freak you out?”
I nodded. “Pathetic, isn’t it?”
Sam was quick to interject. “No! We all have things we’re scared of,” he reassured.
“Sam’s scared of clowns, for example,” Dean smirked.
Sam was quick to throw a dirty look at his brother, but it was soon replaced with a bright idea.
“Dean... what about Garth?”
Dean matched Sam’s bright-eyed expression. “That’s a great idea! I’m sure he could help.”
Sam looked at me. “Right, here’s the plan. We’re gonna call a friend of ours to see if he can help. His name’s Garth, he’s retired from hunting, he’s a dentist… and he’s a really nice guy.”
I swallowed hard. “Surely there must be another way… like calling on an angel to heal me or something?” I suggested with a nervous laugh.
“Cas is a bit preoccupied right now,” Dean admitted. “We haven’t heard from him in a while.... but I assure you that Garth, while he has his quirks… he really is a good guy. You’ll be in safe hands with him.”
I was still trembling a little bit from fear... either that or the icepack was somehow giving me a little brain freeze.
“Don’t worry, sweetheart,” Sam reassured me. “We’ll get this sorted. Who knows, this might help you fight your fear.”
I let a weak smile form as Sam left the room to give this Garth guy a call.
*~*~*~*
Two days, several doses of painkillers and multiple icepacks (plus a few sneaky bowls of ice cream from Dean) later, he arrived. Garth, Sam and Dean’s friend.
“Sam! Dean! I’ve missed you guys!”
Oh, did I mention he was very much a ‘hugger’? He went straight for Dean, who reluctantly hugged him back, and then offered Sam a hug as well. Meanwhile, I was hiding in the doorway while Sam and Dean had a catch-up with Garth.
“Things have been going good,” he said. “While I might not be on the front lines anymore, it feels great to know that I can still help in some way.”
“Well, we’re so glad you came to help us out, Garth.”
“Me too, Sam. How’s she doing?”
Dean took a swig from his beer bottle. “She’s hurt. She’s also incredibly nervous. I don’t know the full story, but don’t take it personally if she’s backing away from you.”
Garth smiled. “That’s alright. I’ve seen many nervous patients in my time. It’s all about getting on their level. You never told me; how’d it happen?”
“Hand-to-hand combat with a Wraith... resulting in a blow to the face.”
Garth winced at the sound of that. “Ouch! You know, they’re pretty strong, I’m surprised she’s not come away with a broken arm, or something worse…”
“We thought the same thing,” Sam interjected. “You want me to go find her?”
“No need… I already see her.”
Crap.
Dean must’ve spotted me hiding behind the doorway. All I wanted to do was bolt, but for some reason, I was frozen to the spot. I dared to look around the door frame, just for a second, but I could see Dean standing up. The ice around my brain melted and I was able to run away.
There was just one problem… Dean was faster than me and able to catch me. He took hold of my hands as I struggled to catch my breath, nervous tears spilling over.
“Listen, sweetheart. I know, you’re scared, but you can’t just keep running away from your fears. Sometimes you must face them. Just ask Sam; terrified of clowns but was able to shoot one right in its stupid nose. If you don’t face this, it’s only gonna hurt you more in the long run.”
I knew Dean was right. He gave my hands a gentle squeeze and coaxed me to calm down and slow my breathing.
“There… you’re okay. Come with me and meet Garth. Can you do that?”
I nodded slowly. “I can try.”
Dean smiled. “Good girl.”
He kept hold of one of my hands and led me back towards the library. Sam was looking at me with a sympathetic gaze, and Garth stood up from his seat, slowly coming over to Dean and me. He had short mousy brown hair, deep blue eyes that held a friendly twinkle in them and was wearing this cosy-looking dark red jumper. He just seemed like a normal, friendly guy. Nothing to fear, I kept telling myself.
“Hi there,” he greeted me warmly. “I’m Garth, it’s nice to meet you.”
He extended a hand, and I allowed him to take mine and offer a strong handshake.
“You too,” I replied with a slight tremor in my voice. Garth picked up on the fear creeping in my voice and slightly tilted his head to one side.
“I know, Sam and Dean told me you’re scared. And that’s okay, I’ve seen many people who are nervous like you. You’re not the first, you won’t be the last. What I will say is I’m only here to help you. Alright?”
I nodded, struggling to keep eye contact with him. I felt guilty about that. Sam and Dean were right; Garth was a nice guy. He was nothing but understanding, and came up with an idea.
“How about you and I take a walk? We can just talk, nothing more right now.”
I liked that idea. “Okay,” I agreed quietly.
“Alright, come on.” Garth put a protective arm around my shoulders as Sam led us out of the library, told Garth the directions to the infirmary when he needed it, and left us to explore. He turned to Dean, who had returned to his beer bottle.
“I hope she’ll be okay,” he confessed.
“Me too, Sam. But if anyone can help with this, it’s Garth.”
*~*~*~*
“A Wraith, huh? I’m surprised you’re not wearing a cast.”
Garth and I were wandering around the bunker, just talking about hunting, and he’d asked me the story about how I’d managed to injure my mouth.
“Me, too. Note to self: hand-to-hand combat with a Wraith - not a good idea.”
Garth let off a light chuckle. “I’ll make a note of that, too.”
His next topic of conversation came a little closer to home.
“I know this is gonna seem personal, but I’m only asking to see if I can help… do you know how your fear of dentists began?”
I stopped wandering and turned to look at him, silent tears starting to form as memories came back. Garth was immediately apologetic.
“Oh, no, I didn’t mean to upset you! I was just curious – I thought if I knew why you were scared, it could help me understand…”
I let out a shaky exhale. “No, it’s okay, I know… it’s just… I haven’t really talked about it much.”
Garth took my hand and gently squeezed it. “You don’t have to tell me the full details. But did you have a bad experience?”
I nodded slowly. “I was only a kid. I had to have a tooth taken out, but I wasn’t numbed up enough. I tried to communicate that it was hurting but nothing was done. Then feeling the pain, hearing the noises, seeing the blood… it was scary.”
His eyes widened as I told the story. “Oh, that’s awful. I’m so sorry that happened to you. From what you’re telling me, you’re scared because you don’t feel in control of your own body when you’re laid down, mouth open, unable to communicate?”
I gasped. Garth hit the nail on the head with his observation.
“Exactly! You’ve cracked the code.”
“Trust me, when you’ve met multiple nervous patients, you grow to learn their reasons for their fears – and they’re all valid. But there’s a few things I know I can do to help you.”
“What would that be?”
“Well,” Garth explained, “firstly, you’re the one in control. I’ll follow your lead. If, when I’m taking a look, you feel uncomfortable and need me to stop, all you need to do is raise a hand. That way I know something’s not right, I can pause, and we can discuss it. Does that sound okay?”
I couldn’t believe it. If only other medical professionals were this understanding. More silent tears spilt over as I nodded. Garth dived into his trouser pocket and pulled out a handkerchief, gently dabbing it under my eyes.
“Alright, that’s good to know. Now, how about we find the infirmary and get started? Sooner we start, sooner it's over.”
I let a thin smile emerge. “Okay,” I said quietly.
“Come on, sweetheart… and hey – you need me to get Sam or Dean to sit with you?”
I shook my head. “I don’t want to trouble them.”
“I’m sure it would be no trouble! I’ll tell you what… You know where the infirmary is, right?”
I nodded.
“Well, how about you go on ahead, and I’ll ask one of them to bring me back. I left my bag in the library, and I kinda need it…” He let off a light laugh as he said that.
I nodded again. “Alright.”
“Do you have any preference? I’ve heard many people do…”
I couldn’t help but snicker as he said that. “None at all, I love both Sam and Dean equally.”
Garth smiled, gently squeezing my shoulder. “Okay, I’ll see you in there.”
And with that, I traipsed down the corridor towards the infirmary, that nervous feeling in my stomach still bubbling, but not quite as violently as before.
Can you write a dean Winchester x reader where she has a 1969 charger and he falls for her
Sure! Hope you like it! 💖 sorry this has taken so long! Happy holidays! Merry Christmas!
Warnings; cussing (swearing which ever you prefer to use) but it’s me soo 😇
Pairing: Dean Winchester x reader
Y/n was a hunter, she was good at what she did. She would hunt alone most of the time. If she needed help she’d reach out to some hunters she trusted. Which was usually her uncle Bobby singer and Rufus Turner. They were usually the one she would ask for help.
She would visit her uncle Bobby a lot. She would also help him out when he needed the help. She also was around a lot but somehow have never met the winchesters until today.
Dean and Sam were inside there friend Bobby’s house when they heard a hum of a car. Dean looked out the window and thought he was in a magical dream. The most beautiful woman he had ever seen stepped out of a black and white 1969 Dodge Charger.
“Holy shit.” Dean mouth dropped as he seen her. Sam went over the window and copied his brother Dean. “Who’s that?” Sam asked Bobby as they watched the Y/h/c haired woman walking towards the front door.
“That would be my Niece Y/n, but she’s more like a daughter to me.” Bobby answered Sam and Dean.
“Hey uncle Bobby!” You greeted as he opened the door. “Hey sweetheart long time no see.” He said hugging her. “I’ve been quite busy.” Y/n replied as she whipped a piece of vampire blood of her face. “I’m in dier need of a shower right now and I just wanted to visit you.” Y/n said as she pulled out of the hug.
“Y/n, I want you to meet good friends of mine. These too Heathen are Sam and Dean Winchester.” Bobby introduced Y/n to the Winchester brothers.
“They don’t look too much like heathens.” Y/n spoke softly as she looked at Dean and his brother Sam. “I’ve heard a lot about you two Winchester’s.” Y/n said as she shook their hands in greeting. “All good things I hope.” Dean deepened his voice in a temp to impress Y/n. She smiled as he leaned down kissing the top of her hand to charm her.
Bobby glared at Dean knowing what he was doing. “Y/n, honey, why don’t you go up and get a shower? The boys and I were just talking about a case before you came. Will catch you up when you get done in the shower.” Y/n nodded looking at her uncle Bobby skeptically. She knew they weren’t talking about a hunt when she arrived but she let it slide.
“If you break her heart I’ll kill ya, boy.” From then on Dean fought for you. For your love that he so dearly wanted. Y/n liked mean too, but she wasn’t gonna give in easily. She wanted him to work for what he wanted.
\\2 months after meeting the Winchester//
“Y/n, have you seen the keys to the Impala?” Y/n held the keys in her hand as she stared at the computer on the table.
Y/n was with the two winchesters helping them on a case in Georgia. They were thinking it was skin walkers but they weren’t sure.
“This is why I keep you around.” Dean said playfully with a smirk.
“Oh, really? I thought it was because you cared about me? And because I’ve save both you and your brothers ass how many times now?” Y/n sassed back as she stood up.
“Well, since I’m on kept here to be keeper of the keys, I’ll just leave.” You joked, grabbing your jacket and the keys to your dodger charger. “Hey, hey, wait.”
Dean caught Y/n by her arm and pulled her against his chest. Her breath got caught in her throat as she was so close to his body. So close she could see the gold flakes in his forest green eyes.
“I didn’t mean it like that.” He spoke so sincerely, she knew it wasn’t a joke. “I know.” She said, glancing down at his lips for just a second then back tonhis eyes. “I really want to kiss you.” He thought he said that in his mind, but when she said go for it he knew he spoke aloud.
Leaning forwards he placed a soft kiss on her lips. She kissed back immediately, making him smile through the kiss.
“I knew you were joking I was just seeing if you would come after me if I left.” You whispered against his lips as your eyes were closed, savoring the moment.
“I don’t ever want you to leave. I-I want to be with you.” He blushed, embarrassed by his words. He truly thought, no knew he was in love with Y/n. She was always there when they needed her. She was strong, confident, beautiful, courageous, selfless, and would sacrifice herself for the people she loved.
The moment he knew he was in love with her was the moment he saw her taking care of a baby. To see her caring for something so small and pure. It had his heart going 90 miles an hour. He watched as she cared for her friends baby. Seeing her go from badass huntress, ganking vampires, demons, ghost, werewolves, witches, etc. To seeing her be soft, caring woman taking care of a fragile baby. It made him think about his future. How he would love to have a family of his own. But not with just anyone, but with her.
“I love you.” He whispered out. She looked at him with wide eyes. Shocked at what he had said, but after a second or two after the shock had went away she smiled back.
“I love you too.” She leaned forwards kissing him. The two started passionately kissing when they heard a cough interrupt their moment.
Sam stood their at the door holding a bag of take out food from a diner.
“I-I Um..” “sammy, you have perfect timing don’t you?” Dean said sarcastically. Sam shurgged as he set the bag of take out in the table.
“I umm, I can leave if you want.” Sam offered and just as Dean was going to say “yes leave”, y/n spoke up.
“It’s okay, I’m starving!” She looked at Dean and smiled. Kissing his cheek then whispering in his ear. “We can continue this later.” She winked then went to the table to eat supper.
I was reading a post about how if Garth and Cas ever met they would have been best friends, and it makes sense but consider this... Cas, Charlie, and Garth trio. Think about it.
15x10 set up exactly how Dean’s story needs to end, and the crazy part is... it’s almost happy.
This moment isn’t about Dean dreaming to pursue a career in dancing or something like that. Had that been his dream, we definitely would’ve heard of it a bit more than this throughout 15 seasons of this show.
Instead, I believe this line refers to a desire for the life that Garth has. A life with a family. A life with dancing with the person you love for no particular reason except wanting to.
Up until now, Dean didn’t think that sort of a life could be available to someone like him. He fought monsters. That sort of “hero” life doesn’t allow for normality.
This episode, at it’s core, was about Garth showing Dean that it IS possible to have both.
This wasn’t the only piece of evidence that this is on Dean’s mind, though.
When Dean enters his subconscious - a place where he holds thoughts and dreams he may not even know he has, Dean is dancing.
This may seem sort of random at first glance, but it becomes more meaningful when you realize he isn’t dancing alone.
First, he’s dancing with Garth: and if dancing represents a normal life in Dean’s mind, this makes perfect sense. Garth is the hero this whole episode’s about, and his “normal” life is blatantly showcased throughout the entirety of the episode. He’s like a guide, or a symbol that maybe this is an ok path.
Second, he’s dancing with a lamp. A placeholder. After all, the obvious flaw in this normal life idea is not having anyone to dance with.
Now, is it possible that, at some point in these last ten episodes, writers will bring back or indroduce some woman that he can build a quick relationship with before the ending? Yes. Of course it’s possible. And, knowing the pattern of the writers, that’s probably what’s going to happen.
