Kim Young-ha is the only contemporary Korean author I could have named right now, 'cause I own one of his books (a collection of his short stories). I think there's no English translation yet though. If I don't forget, I will give you a few more author names after I visited our Korean library at university, they suggest a few reads which I just can't seem to remember.

I actually picked up a book by Kim Young-ha! It’s called “Your Republic is Calling You". Going to read it after I finish Banana Yoshimoto’s “Kitchen" which I have absolutely entranced by. Definitely can’t wait to read more of her work. Thanks, millions88!
