just some comments i saw on a post about madonna, america ferrera, and scarlett’s speaches on a facebook thread of people i don’t know (just had to add that, because if i did know them, they’d be gone so fast) i am not taking a screen shot of all of these, but you guys know i couldn’t make this shit up.

Stand up for PP

Pro-lifers railing against Planned Parenthood because they perform abortions (3% of their total services) is like a Baptist railing against supermarkets because they sell liquor: stupid, useless, and makes you look like a fanatical idiot.

Last weekend, my mom and Murray and I went to support Planned Parenthood at a counter-protest. At this rate, we should invest in poster board. But it is nice to show up and be counted. I believe strongly that a woman's decisions about her body should be between her and her doctor. I'm concerned people don't realize what a slippery slope regulating peoples' bodies is. Plain and simple, there is no difference between a government that forces women to become mothers, and a government that forces women to have abortions or be sterilized. We must be vigilant to protect all our choices. Furthermore, I am deeply frustrated at the injection of religion into politics. It is so disheartening to see the Right advocating for abstinence-only education, to see them stripping healthcare, attempting to defund places that help the most marginalized and disadvantaged of us with family planning. These pro-life groups who support Republicans who are chipping away at WIC, free student lunches, welfare programs, you name it. The biggest hypocrites. We have chosen to set up recurring donations to Planned Parenthood to help how we can. At the Seattle rally last weekend, the pro-choice folks outnumbered the defund-crew a hundred to one. The future is female. I'm fighting for it.
