Part two suprep even harder than first part. Fml. I just hope after all this, I’ll get answers.
Tomorrow is my 10-year colonoscopy for my ulcerative colitis. This is my first time prepping with SUPREP and it feels like I’m chugging cough medicine.
It’s taking every ounce of effort not to vomit.
I feel like a twat for complaining about the lemon flavored magnesium citrate I had to drink yesterday.
Please send help.
Me drinking the prep fluid: God, it tastes like Satan's piss!
Woke up way too early feeling a bit dehydrated with horrible stomach cramps. Well, I wake up most day with stomach cramps. But the suprep did a number on me. Number 2 to be exact (badumtish). Anyway I drank some cucumber water and now I’m having a cup of jasmine tea with honey in it. I had the rest of my gatorade after I woke up so I am supplementing with other things until I can go out and get more.
Suprep is so awful tasting. I was involuntarily shuddering trying to get it down and was met with a wave of nausea trying to keep it down. The countdown from here awaits..
So I just did my first Suprep regimen. The first dose I sat on my bathroom crying for hours because it was absolutely horrid to get down and half way through I started vomiting sips I took. I finally found that chugging as much as humanely possible and then chasing it with apple juice worked best. I also had to dilute it in more water than just the 16 ounce container because it was simply way too strong for me. Absolutely nothing happened after the first dose. Literally nothing. I then did my second dose ~~ and still nothing is happening I'm just losing water. Now what do I do.
Colonoscopy prep more like kill me
March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month.
Colorectal cancers are the third most commonly diagnosed cancers in the U.S., and the second leading cause of deaths from cancer. March is colorectal cancer awareness month. And last week was my wife’s decadal colonoscopy.
Everything you’ve heard about the prep is probably true. It’s miserable. They’ve eliminated the Fleet enemas, but there is still a huge purge and a few days of dietary restrictions. Wisely, my wife is not as frugal as me. She invested in a couple of jars of Suprep which saved her from trying to drink a gallon or more of the cheaper fluid covered by our insurance.
Not everyone agrees with the American Cancer Society’s recommendation for colonoscopies every 10 years from 50 on. Here is some contrary information from The Naughty Nutritionist.
