Women in Mahabharata - Padmavati

In Mahabharata Karna has three wives hailing from the same soota caste. Here, it is a case of a straight-and-narrow arranged marriage.

Tamizh folk theatre finds one woman, Ponnuruvi, the princess of Kalinga (basically, Bhanumati), who here is married to Karna instead and accepts him only after finding out that Karna is kshatriya by birth.

In Kashiram Das' adaptation, the princess Ashavari rejects him (like Draupadi), and the woman married to him finally is the maid of the princess- Padmavati.

The more popular names today are Vrushali and Supriya- the creations of Shivaji Sawant in his work Mrityunjaya. While Vrushali's backstory is unique, Supriya's story seems like a mixture of the above two traditions.

they threw a spooky day party and in true sims fashion most of the guests just hung out in the bathroom the whole time

whats good gamers i completely overhauled these guys story. it was too heavy and i got tired of writing it 🤠 i’m keeping that as a thing and elements of it are in their new canon but the og’s not going anywhere public. word vomit under read more.

right now is a generic college setting. supriya and liss are roommates on campus, while mordred lives off campus in an apartment with tom. blegh.

mordred gets to live trauma free, his first time in the US was on an exchange program and he decided he wanted to study there. he found his apartment on craigslist, he’s friends with tom but more or less knows nothing about him. tom’s existence in the apartment is as a nocturnal cryptid who’s somewhere between worrying and comedic.

pri was put into foster care while her parents were fighting deportation, and was raised temporarily in the same family as tom, who retains some of his weird powers in this. her poliosis came from him in the old canon and i’ve kept that here so i’ll have to work out how exactly it’ll work.

pri will eventually drop out due to stress. she wants to be a non fiction author but she pushed herself to study for her parents. after she cracks during a visit home she’s gonna find out that her parents never minded whether she got a degree or not. she puts pressure on herself to be the best she can be but they just want her to be happy.

liss will move in with mordred around that point, they’ll eventually get engaged and move out together. i have no clue what’s gonna happen with tom. he has his own unique story outside of all this but i like writing interactions and funnies. and considering he’s the one i project on i’ll just leave him with an indefinite future since same hat. also he’s gradually getting shorter lol
