Signing off for the night! Between the 5:00 AM cat-start and the high-gravity energy of the day, my spoons are officially spent. I am heading into my winding down routine now to keep things sustainable and follow my doctor's orders for a zero-stress night.
If you sent an ask or DM or reblog that I didn't get to today, please don't worry. I am implementing a new structured schedule this week to manage my health, and I will be getting to the rest of the inbox during my windows tomorrow!
Thank you for the incredible feedback and the creative sparks today; I will see you all during my 12:30 PM EST window tomorrow. Sleep well, everyone! Love you all.

Your writing doesn’t need to justify its existence. This Sunday reflection offers permission to let your words take up space — without performance, urgency, or optimization. Writing can rest and still matter. #WritingLife #CreativePractice
Not every system needs to work on your best days. Sustainable systems are designed to hold you on the hard ones, too. This post explores building workflows that forgive inconsistency, build slack, and choose “good enough” on purpose. #GentleProductivity #NeurodivergentLife

Hey there,
Currently writing sitting on a mattress in Berlin. I landed a contract in Berlin today for myself and A. We are going to live in a beautiful apartment in Prenzlauer Berg, which is amazing. I’ve been so happy I can’t stop smiling. I need to move to Berlin as of now, but there are still some issues to take care of in Sweden, like selling our old apartment, moving out all of our stuff, A graduating... oh and a trip to Beirut amidst all of that. It’s going to be an intense couple of weeks.
i was thinking about why it is that fanart relaxes me when objectively it's pretty much exactly the same as doing any other kind of art
i think it relates to how, for "passion" careers, you are expected to constantly be on the clock-- and, with something like illustration, you feel like you need to be: you have to work hard to even get any traction professionally at all, and by "hard", i don't mean 9-5, i mean you get home from 9-5 work and start drawing
every time i draw something that could be marketable or useful to my career as promotion-- it's work. no matter what the drawing is of, no matter whether i decided to draw it solely because i love whatever it's of-- it's work. and that makes it stressful. even if it's just a tiny bit stressful, even if it's only an extra ounce of weight on your shoulders-- eventually, it adds up.
gay fanart, though? gay fanart you could literally hand to your average art director and say "this is what i can do" and they would probably look uncomfortably into the middle distance and ask when you were going to show them your art
this makes it completely useless in a professional sense, but also it makes it not work, and when my brain stops shouting about work, i remember that i genuinely love drawing
i've been thinking about work and careers a lot lately, and in the near future i'm planning to start seriously thinking how to allow art be a part of my work without letting work overtax my love of art
but in the still nearer future i am going to draw harry potter and draco malfoy making out on a window-sill or something
