Day 1 of the lock down in South Africa. All non-essential businesses must be closed for 3 weeks. We are already closed since the 19th to protect the weaker in our community! However, we have been more busy then ever educating our community about the virus, spreading home made water bottles to wash hands with running soap water, keeping our communal taps safe, setting up a rescue plan in case of an outbreak in our community, etc. In the weeks to come we will focus on food security in the village. For this we have been planting vegetable seeds in trays, we are busy erecting a green house as we speak, we have been buying seedlings, potato seed, etc. During the last few years we have been focusing on food security in the village by distributing fencing material, starting a community garden and installing water tanks, but now it seems more needed then ever. Would you like to help us with that, please get in touch with us via WhatsAp (0027 783573285) for more info and follow us here for regular updates. In the mean time, stay home and stay safe.....from the Elundini family! Hope to see you all again in a couple of months. #covid19 #foodsecurity #sustainyourself #stayhome #staysafe #donttravel #greengarden #hardtimesahead #myec #villagelife #myrurallife #easterncape #southafrica (at Hogsback, Eastern Cape) https://www.instagram.com/p/B-OqzzsJC8q/?igshid=1bdqk5ddwpclg
