What I really needed from True Blood was Godric living and him and Sookie becoming best friends like I 100% believe that if he’d stayed everything would’ve been okay 😭

The TB vampires are out of the coffin but the Cold Ones (Twilight vampires) remain secret to humans. In fact most TB vampires don’t believe they exist; they’re boogeymen. Te Cold Ones are waaaaaay stronger, the sun, stakes, and silver don’t hurt them; they never sleep, some of them have crazy extra powers, and they don’t need invitations to enter human homes. Their venom causes excruciating pain for vampires. Between the frenzying and the fact that synthetic blood does nothing for them, the AVL knows they are not good optics.
Sookie hears rumors about these Cold Ones every so often and she’s NOT eager to meet any. Vampires are afraid of them, even if they’re loathe to admit it. No thank you. Luckily it sounds like they’re incredibly rare.
…Enter the Cullens, all well-mannered and wearing light neutral tones. Sure they’re a little unsettling, but Sookie doesn’t understand why Eric and Pam look like their hackles would be pointing straight to the sky if they had any
The worst part of reading the sookie books is you are now burdened with the knowledge that eric should have a gorgeous mane of hair and that we didn’t even get a wig 1/4th of its actual length in the show before it got cut into the Only Haircut Men Are Allowed To Have

i think the sookie novels are better than true blood. true blood was better but then the writing dropped off noticeably and stopped being fun to watch whereas the novels were always mid but entertaining. sam merlotte endgame isn't real if we all pretend it didn't happen
