Basically a parallel to the shimada coffee where he got caught rather than being successful in getting away ~Bambi)
Sojiro: *laying in the grass beneath a sky of cherry blossoms, his head resting in his wife’s lap as she strokes his hair* how tall do you think they’ll get?
Ayako: *smiles at him before looking at Hanzo and Genji, 3years and 1month respectively, both sleeping peacefully beside them on the grass* I think Genji will end up taller.
Sojiro: oh you think so~? I think Hanzo will be. Genji will be faster though, I think he’ll skip crawling and go right to running.
Ayako: *staring down at him with glassy eyes as her head suddenly detaches from her body and the pink sky turns red* …run.
Sojiro: *snapping awake to cold mud and concrete beneath him, water dripping somewhere around him, too starved and weak to move, dark, always so dark* …ayako?…
Sojiro: *turns his head and freezes seeing the bodies of his wife and sons hanging from the ceiling*
Sojiro: *jolts awake instinctively reaching for his sword only to feel his pillow instead* h-huh? What?
Genji: *now fully grown, a cyborg, and very much still alive* you were having a nightmare, we heard you screaming and came to check on you.
Hanzo: *walking in with tea* it was a bad one… your tusks and horns came back.
Sojiro: *feels his face and sighs making his tusks shrink back to fangs and his horns to the little stubs they normally are* just… reliving some unwanted memories…
Genji: do you want to talk about it?…
Sojiro: …no… *shakes his head a little* just… don’t run too far away from me tonight… please…
