STAR WARS CHARACTER MOODBOARDS: Rey
I didn’t know there was this much green in the whole galaxy.
Sitcoms are tricky. There are plenty examples of shows that ultimately have become classics, even if they don't always age well.
"All in the Family" (1971 - 1979)
"Seinfeld" (1989 - 1998)
There are definitely sitcoms that I'll always go to bat for. Even if they weren't all consistent throughout their respective runs.
"The Good Place" (2016 - 2020)
"Arrested Development" (2003 - 2019)
I've grown a bit cynical towards the genre as I've gotten older, mainly due to how broad some shows can be with overly simplified humor or unrelatable idyllic values.
"Shifting Gears" (2025 - present)
"Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage" (2024 - present)
Still, a good sitcom succeeds off its endearing characters, engaging stories, and memorable humor. There's a handful of examples of sitcom-adjacent series that are able to push the boundaries and delve into slightly more serious themes, and balance those stories with a more raw and honest sense of humor.
"Fleabag" (2016 & 2019)
"Colin from Accounts" (2022 - present)
"Catastrophe" (2015 - 2019)
Other noteworthy suggestions:
Both the US and UK versions of "Ghosts"
"Such Brave Girls"
"Raising Hope"
"Extraordinary"

I’m privileged
It’s dress up day at school tomorrow for Halloween, I’m going as a straight white cis male
Participamos do Startup Weekend Belém
SWCM "privilege"
I worry If I transition to male as an ftm, I’ll be labeled as a “privileged and oppressive male” by people. Even though transmen do benefit from male privilege after they transition, if they had a female identity before, they didn’t benefit from male privilege and were just as oppressed as females. More so, we don’t have cis privilege. I’m afraid of expressing this idea on tumblr.
Especially as a straight white ftm… Even if I eventually pass 100% of the time as a straight white man, it doesn’t mean I grew up that way. Yeah, there are people out there with much worse to deal with, but it bothers me to think that people who I’ll eventually come to know and love (who will only know me as a SWCM) will see me and think of the privileges I’ve had, and the “ease of life” I must have lived…
