I swear when the music video for Christina Aguilera’s Candyman came out (2009 yikes) it became my entire personality and I still love it as much even today—
Also I haven’t drawn Emily and SweetDevil!Amelia in a minute I missed themmm 🥺
Morally questionable angel Arthur who uses his high ranking and power to his advantage. With an inquisitive mind, he seeks to study and experiment on demons. Nobody really questions him, because who cares? They're demons. Plus, Arthur claims his work will bring useful knowledge for dealing with demons. He sees fit to use whatever means necessary, because he is an angel and therefore must always be right.
What other angels don't know is that Arthur has taken a liking to one demon in particular that he captured. He attempts to justify his studying and experiments on the demon to himself by insisting that demons are an enemy, and he attempts to justify any affection or tenderness by insisting that as an angel, he can't help feeling sympathy/kindness for all creatures. In reality, he's not very sympathetic or kind to demons at all, but this one isn't so bad. He can afford it a little bit of kindness.

Alfred is an extremely curious demon who is tired of all his fellow demons expecting him to be as horrible as they are. He has a bad streak, sure, but the rest of them seem to be on an entirely different level. Many want to bring pain and suffering. Alfred just wants to help others live a little, even if that means getting into trouble. This is when he gets the idea to befriend and slightly corrupt an angel. After all, an angel won't be quite so evil, and maybe since Alfred feels he has some goodness in him, they'll be able to get along. However, he expects most angels would be a little too stiff and pure, so he'll have to encourage them to get into some mischief with him and tempt them with bad things until they're actually fun. Maybe if he's lucky, he can even get them to fall and he'll have a new demon friend much more on his level!
One day, however, Alfred gets captured by an angel who is much different from what he expected. This one is self-righteous, sure, but he already seems a bit corrupt and is much more willing to chat with demons than others. He's interesting and kind of funny, too.
The angel ends up letting him go after his first experiment, wanting to observe the results of them out in the open. Alfred doesn't know what to think. Should he be relieved he's been let go or worried about what will happen? He does end up experiencing some effects, like not being able to fly as quickly, but it seems to wear off.
The angel captures him again, only to release him after another experiment. This pattern continues. None of the experiments are that bad so far and Alfred finds he doesn't mind so much. He still maintains his freedom and it's not like he's close enough to other demons to care what happens if Arthur uses his results against them. They could stand to be knocked down a peg.
Eventually some of the other demons start questioning if Alfred is letting himself be captured. They tell him he's betraying his own kind, but Alfred just claims Arthur is a much more powerful being than him; it's not his fault this keeps happening.

Alfred starts becoming more of a willing participant for Arthur's studies and experiments, and Arthur starts keeping Alfred for longer periods of time after Alfred admits other demons are growing wary of this. Arthur doesn't want to part with Alfred in case any actions are made to 'protect' Alfred from him.
Things are peaceful for a while, though Arthur seems troubled. He admits that his next set of experiments will involve quite a bit of pain and he is tentative to perform them on Alfred, who hardly deserves such things. He is dedicated to his work, though, and says they must be done, so he will spare Alfred and go capture a much worse demon.
He succeeds and Alfred is relieved it isn't him. It truly is a terrible demon Arthur has captured, so it must be all right. Now that Arthur is experimenting on another demon, however, Alfred starts to notice just how much time Arthur spends on this. He's heavily bored without Arthur around, and worse, lonely. He came to look forward to Arthur's company and attention. Maybe he was a specimen, a test subject, but it really started to feel like they were just two science partners. And Alfred happened to be the subject of interest. He liked that Arthur was so interested in him.
Sometimes he almost considers telling Arthur to go ahead and do the painful experiments on him.
I have this cute headcanon for Sweetdevil Sweden that makes me smile when I think about it. His bat/demon/dragon wings are smaller than normal demons/devils and he can't really fly, but the poor man tries and when he does and because of how big he is, he tends to bump into things and knock things over and sometimes brake things, but he flaps his wings hard and fast that it is so adorable.
This is hilarious I laugh every time I read it lol. I'm sorry for keeping it in my inbox for a year haha
The quiet echo of the eternal darkness was what disturbed you the most. You could hardly see your own hand in front of you, let alone where you were exactly. Truth be told, you bearly even remembered a thing - the last thing you could recall was lying down in your bed and before you knew it, you fell asleep.
...Were you dreaming?
Even if you were, you could not be certain. You stood in the same place for who knows how long but after a while you grew impatient. You just wanted things to clear out, for this endless darkness to fade. You walked and walked, going seemingly nowhere.... and out of the blue, you stumbled against something, which caused you to trip. In a flash, a torch lit itself above you, revealing several objects on the ground. All of them were strange to say the least ad they had nothing to do with each other... And yet, you couldn't help but to be enchanted by them, like each of those little objects were calling out to you, their voices sinister, but oddly tempting.
Which item do you chose, my dear?
🍓 A golden bowl filled to the brim with some of the most delicious looking fruit you had ever seen before. The tiny emeralds on the bowl felt like eyes as they stared back at you, daring you to pick up one of the fruits.
📚 A pile of books in a language you could not recognize. The small stack looked old but it held a certain charm to it.
🌹 A wilted rose that had seen better days. A long time ago, the delicate bloom was surely breathtaking, but now it was nothing....
🐻 An old teddy bear which reminded you of your home and childhood. You thought back to the comfort of your home, of your warm bed, just waiting for you...
🔪 An old kitchen knife, covered in something you couldn't quite pin. It looked sinister compared to the other items, but somehow it still blended well with the scenery.
👑 A crown fit for a royal, it's delicate gems falling apart and crumbling to bits the closer you stood by it. You could have sworn that you saw the crown shaking a bit, almost as though it was angry.
💵 A single crumpled up dollar bill, the bill itself probably quite old and not usable anymore.
Pick your item darling, pick your demon, pick your deadly sin. ♥
