she was frustrated beyond belief and she couldn't get any rest. sleep wasn't coming to her by any means. with a sigh, she grabbed her phone and dialed their number. she sank her teeth into her lower lip and her thumb hovered over the call button for a few moments before she finally gave in and pressed it. when she brought the phone to her ear, she rested back against the pillows and felt her whole body relax the moment she heard their voice. "...hi," she said softly and smiled to herself. "i couldn't sleep. so, i thought giving you a call would be a good idea at the time. did i wake you up?"

Henrique could feel his blood boiling, anger rising within him more and more by the second. Everything about Salvador's presence left him trembling with frustration and the comments from the other man only served to further his rush of adrenaline.

"Don't you dare condescend me, Pardo." The words were growled, however he relented and let go of the other man's shirt, shoving him once more for good measure as he stepped backwards. "I can assure you... I wouldn't regret a single millisecond of it."

dionne froze at the sound of his voice following her out into the hallway, " hmm ? " she turned, blinking like a deer caught in headlights, lips pressing inward as her eyes went wide. " no i, i'm not running, " she could feel her face heating as she tried to find a lie that sounded even semi believable. " okay yes, i was running, but not because you kissed me. i'm not that petty... " she absolutely was, but she was also a grown-ass woman now. she was supposed to be able to handle her emotions. her gaze flicked up to his face again, like seeing him under fluorescent hallway lights might confirm he was real. he still had that same easy laugh, the same warm tone, just… less braces. less teen awkwardness. more jawline. " you uh, you grew into your face. " she blurted before she could stop herself. then grimaced. " i just mean, you still look exactly the same, glasses and braces or no. " back then dionne was a twig with big bushy curls and glasses that hid her perpetual teenage embarrassment. she'd been so stunned by the kiss that she'd avoided him until he got the unspoken message and stopped trying to talk to her. " i just didn’t think i’d be seeing anyone i knew this week. least of all you. "

The second she'd seen her least favourite customer come in, she'd made a beeline over the other end of the bar before thinking about it. "Look... I know you said you were just about to head out, but do you mind waiting five minutes until somebody else serves them." Keeping her voice low not to be heard, and inclining her head as little as she could to avoid picking up attention. "Because if they try hitting on me one more time, I may have to punch them. And that probably wouldn't go down too well."

"i mean, it is a little harder to make up breakfast in a strangers kitchen." though as harin looked around her own, clearly it wasn't easy for her to make breakfast in her own kitchen. she couldn't even use being distracted while looking for things as an excuse as to why it had all gone so horribly wrong. "are you sure? if you wanted to do the classic one night stand thing of disappearing then i can just turn my back and pretend i haven't seen you at all — saves me the embarrassment of not being able to cook."
