This looks to be the right place. Just by standing outside of it, a sharp chill prickled up his spine, raising the hairs on the back of his neck at the ominous aura that Morty picked up. He tightened his scarf ever so slightly as if he could minimize the contact between the air and his skin. Morty could confidently say that he was used to the presence of visitors from the spectral world after many years of encounter but even then, this particular aura stood out from the rest.
He stared at it for a moment longer before large frown marred his face, his hand going up to rub the area in hopes of easing the chill. This further cemented his previous thought. He hadn’t felt that kind of iciness in years and yet, from just being near the vicinity of this house, it ignited the instinctual response when faced with a terrifying unknown. Small thuds and thumps could be heard inside - an abandoned place where no living being dared to step in, even the local wild Pokemon.
In Eastern Unova, there stood a tall, imposing mountain. Reversal Mountain, called by the region’s population, was located east of Undella Town and west of Lentimas Town. Said to be the habitat of a Legandary Pokemon, the mountain’s interior was filled with magma. Only strong, high leveled Pokemon lived there and even then, the amount of life there was scarce. Truly it was not a place for any mere Trainer to be in. One wrong move, one moment of indecisiveness in this harsh place and they might be stepping into the spirit world by the end of the day.
Though, the reason for his visit to this region had nothing to do with this summit. No, the object of interest for him came in the form of a lone, small house placed at the base of the mountain. With no title of any sort, people opted to call it the Strange House. No one knew how long it had been there or why it was erected in the first place. Who in their right mind would want to live here? Perhaps their choice of naming wasn’t too of the mark.
Strange things happened; furniture moved about, doors closing abruptly and misty writings on the walls deterred all from entering this place. One young lad ignored those warnings however. It was by chance that he stumbled upon an article where the Trainer revealed his experience inside the house. Ninety percent of it explained that items were thrown at him and eerie cries of ‘get out’ echoed everywhere.
Morty understood that not any normal spirit was haunting the place. Dangerous poltergeists were something he did not want anyone to face nor was he fond of meeting one either. But, if the probability of endangering humans was high, the blond knew he needed to do something, both for the living and the dead.
So there he was, standing in front of the creepy looking house. Even in broad daylight, shivers coursed through his system because the dark energy he felt rolled off from it in waves. In any case he had to be strong. He needed to be strong. Possessing a weak willed mortal was child’s play for such spirits. Morty took in a deep, steadying breath, squared his shoulders and was about to take his first step forward when he heard footsteps approaching from behind.
Morty spun, his hand going to his belt. His gaze immediately fell upon the young man, who looked just as surprised to see him. He still remained on guard, however. What purpose did this stranger have here?
"And wha' business of yers is that?" He wasn't particularly into anyone anymore, but he supposed that a few of the gym leaders were on the good looking side.
