Realixer - Chapter 1 Matt’s PoV Looking up.

Freaky Friday

You experience your own Freaky Friday, and switch bodies with someone you love/hate. Tell us what happens.

I can imagine trading bodies with so many people. First, let me try to switch with someone I love. Well, I love very few people... LOL. I could trade places with my mom, but I know what she does most of the time. Which is basically what I do when I’m not working, I guess... Watch TV and chat online, cook, organize finances, think about family... The only thing that happens to her and not to me is PAIN. I guess I could rationalize her pain and assist her better when we trade bodies back, or even empathize and listen to her better...

I wasn’t even going to write about mom, I was thinking of a crush or one of my best friends, but when I started writing, I started thinking about the struggle that mom goes through... She fears most things: snakes, flying, elevator, death, the reason for her pains, the world outside. I think the more she stays home watching the news, the more she’s scared of what goes on outside. Seeing the news is most of the contact she has with the world, and the news only broadcast tragedies; from violence to catastrophe. What really happens is mostly a mystery to her. If dad or I take longer than usual to get home, she automatically thinks we’ve suffered an accident and are in a life or death situation. 

If I switched bodies with her, I wouldn’t switch minds; so I wouldn’t know what goes on in her head. I wonder if I’d feel her pain. But I imagine it would benefit her because she would have to do the things I do, and she’d see the world through my eyes, outside, and realize most of her fears are irrational.
