Skexish Artifacts pulled from the Gallery Section on the Official Dark Crystal website.
Honestly, the website is kinda hard to navigate, I pulled these from the 2013 version of the website via the waybackmachine, which surprisingly was far easier to access than the current site.
The official resource for all things Dark Crystal.
Figured I would start posting my projects on here, so I’m starting off the new year by making the heron marked blade from wheel of time! I’m using the the design that was supposedly approved by Robert Jordan and this would be the most complex sword I’ve ever made.
I made a prop replica of Percy’s sword. Because what else was I supposed to do with my free time if not learn how to make EVA foam props from scratch?
I know this isn’t the content i usually post on this blog but hey, I’m proud of the sword. It may be a bit rough if you look close but from afar? looks great.
It’s REALLY shiny in person, probably because I went all out with metallic paints (That’s also why the colors don’t match 100%, because there’s only so many shades of metallic gold and silver, but i think i matched them relatively close)
I feel really cool holding it,,,
Here is a picture of my hand holding it. Cool ain't it?
I was feeling super down so I decided a little casual closet cosplay was in order. Turning into 2B has always been so relaxing to me and honestly I do coin my inability to see without glasses (hence no blind) as 2Bean. Too cute to quit.

Complete Dual Glaive Sword Prop - Jim Henson Company 70th Anniversary Auction on Julien's Auctions, sold for $7,680 - Lot 117
"The complete Dual Glaive sword prop wielded by Rian (performed by Neil Sterenberg and voiced by Taron Egerton) in the prequel series The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance (Netflix, 2019).
The prop is made of resin, and each blade is solid and hand-painted to appear metallic with battle-worn hand-detailing. The handles are painted in brown and gold-tones. The bottom of the hilt contains a translucent resin gem at the end, it also contains a magnet inside to allow it to be secured in the hands of the puppet wielding it. The prop contains wear consistent with heavy production usage, which includes, but is not limited to paint chipping, scuffing and scratching, and adhesive residue present on the handle.
One of the primary MacGuffins of the series, the Dual Glaive is a legendary weapon in the world of Thra. According to legend, a Gelfling would wield the Dual Glaive and be able to reunite the Seven Clans and end the reign of the Skeksis Empire. Rian ultimately does find both parts of the sword and combines them to use in battle, before he discovers that the gem in the handle is actually the Shard of Division - a cracked piece of the Crystal of Truth that has the ability to take someone's Essence. The Dual Glaive is eventually destroyed by skekMal The Hunter in the final episode of the series, but the Shard of Division remained intact.
