Ok so...

I made a prop replica of Percy’s sword. Because what else was I supposed to do with my free time if not learn how to make EVA foam props from scratch?

I know this isn’t the content i usually post on this blog but hey, I’m proud of the sword. It may be a bit rough if you look close but from afar? looks great.

It’s REALLY shiny in person, probably because I went all out with metallic paints (That’s also why the colors don’t match 100%, because there’s only so many shades of metallic gold and silver, but i think i matched them relatively close)

I feel really cool holding it,,,

.... at this point designing weapons is just my art downtime I occasionally show people xD

And yes I'm well aware I've spelt Eclipse wrong

Anyway! I made an eclipse scythe, continuing the whole weapon theme I have going on - here's how it works

Eclipse Scythe:

Possibly more powerful than the sun and moon scythes

Uses volcanic/lava/fire magic - can either turn it's targets into pure ashes or a molten/melted mess

Can fold away like the others (imagine bringing out a weapon that is literally steaming because it's that hot)

like the others, the orb behind the blade holds extra power and absorb it

Doesn't have a particular cycle of day that it's most powerful but does have a cool down ( i.e the glowing fades and it's just a pure black blade)

I was honestly a little stuck on this one but I like how it turned out :D

Anime Boston 2017!!!! Which leads me to this...

So I have just bought my ticket to Anime Boston 2017!!! Yayyy! I'm actually super excited since Robbie Daymond, the voice actor of Prompto from Final Fantasy XV will be there! He's actually the reason I went and bought the ticket xD I just couldn't pass up the chance! I might die of happiness when I see him >< I actually plan on going as Azura from Fire Emblem Fates which leads me to this problem....does anyone know how to make a weapon prop??? I've never actually made one before and I feel making the Blessed Lance would complete everything but I don't really know what materials are affordable or durable or even how to put it together. If anyone can give some advice on props or maybe materials that they have used before that are reliable that would be great!

I’ve been rebuilding my Crescent Rose scythe and I want opinions on how I should paint it (since it’s almost ready to be put together) 

Should I do spray paint, or acrylic?
