This beautiful Vendel era sword scabbard is not on display! The museum who own it have it locked up in a cupboard somewhere. Surely there are museums in Sweden who would love to display it to the many who would appreciate the artistry? I find animal interlace style of this kind enchanting- the Vendel era style is more simple than Viking era “knotwork” and I think I actually prefer it!
