SxF CH 101 SPOILERS
.
.
.
I was just reading the newest Spy x Family chapter and came across this very interesting detail. Obviously, there are spoilers ahead, so if you have not read Chapter 101, go do that and come back.
The scene I will be talking about takes place after Martha has been walking aimlessly, trying to survive. We see how she collapses on the ground, unable to move.
Then, a military vehicle comes closer and stops before her. A man tries to shoot her, saying she ‘looks Ostanian’.
This struck me as kinda weird, as up until this point in the manga, we have never had a confirmation about whether or not Ostanians or Westalians look different to each other.
But this right here gives us definitive proof that there is a certain defining feature between both races. The soldier outright says ‘Looks Ostanian. Gotta be’.
Meaning, he is very confident in his view, and genuinely believes that Martha is from Ostania. At first, I thought maybe the reason he thought she was a Ostanian was because of her clothing/ attire, and maybe there is a cultural difference between the clothes. But then I remembered that at this point in time, Martha is in Westalis, meaning she is wearing Westalian clothes that she found. Which MEANS, even if there are differences in the clothes, there is no way the soldier would be able to figure out Martha is from Ostania without there being something else telling him that.
If this is true, and there really is a defining characteristic that separates Ostanians from Westalians that is prominent enough to notice at a first glance, then it is a huge deal.
Right now, I’m quickly skimming through the manga and I can’t seem to find any instances of Loid telling Yor where he’s from. In the future, he may tell her he’s originally from Westalis. But she may already know that based on the information I have already layed out.
Umm anyway, I’m kinda rambling, and it is currently 11:16 PM for me so I need to go to bed.
Make what you will of this post lol.
So I didn't manage to post my thought regarding SxF mission 101 on time.
Oh well, better late than never 🤭
(Beware of spoilers)
Endo continued to torment Martha. Oh my goodness.... 😭😭😭😭
This panels really broke me 💔💔💔
Paul was so sweet.
He really reminds me that even during the hardest part of life, even among destructions and negativity, there will always be people who hold the light no matter the hardship they've been enduring.
And this people will always show kindess.
People like Anabele. Like Paul. Like Martha. And like Yor.
Humanity will always prevail because these kind of people. 🥲🥲🥲🥲
Anyway, through several discussion, I was reminded that this arc is Martha telling Becky about her past time during war.
Why would Martha tells a 6.yo kid this sad horror story?
I tried to reread several Martha-Becky panels, and I think Martha finds it is time to tell Becky a story, to boarden Becky's way of viewing the world. Specifically her family's main income.
Martha has been nurturing Becky and time and time again teach the little heiress about how she should behave.
I guess, Martha has also been nurturing Becky's father too, judging from this panel during the Bus hijack arc.
Martha who has seen the worst side of war understand the nature of weapon and by extension the weapon manufacturer. Spesifically the Blackbells.
She did have her live saved by Blackbells tank, but it didn't mean the weapons didn't take other human lives.
And I guess Martha makes it her personal goal to keep the Blackbells from abusing their power as best as she can.
It's a common thing that a child as old as Becky only sees the awesome thing her parents has done. And be proud of what they had done.
But, maybe it's time for Martha to tell Becky the ugly truth behind weapons industry.
So that Becky will never become the most dangerous animal ever lived on planet earth. 🤣🤣

Even though I wonder, will Becky learns anything from Martha's sad war back story, or will the kid only focus on the bittersweet romance??
We shall wait when the next chapter drops tomorrow. 🤭

It's incredible how they tried to accuse Henderson of being corrupt, almost making him lose his desire to educate children when he is the complete opposite in fact,he became a teacher to avoid all that kind of rubbish of methods.

Poor Paul it was clear that he wanted to live but his weak body didn't allow him to continue.
All this time Martha did nothing but receive blows to the heart and the final blow that will destroy it completely is waiting.
You can tell it's been a hard road, and to avoid running into other soldiers, she pretends to be a man. And just like that, she learns that the war is over, without having seen anything. She'd fought for this war, lost her unit, only to learn of it from the soldiers' mouths - a cruel irony. They try to comfort themselves by saying they did it for their homes and their families, but you can tell they're tired of what they've been through. Paul is kind to her and offers to marry her, but refuses because her heart belongs to someone else. And he understands perfectly, but in the end, he just couldn't make it, so I'm thinking it might be a little too much. I mean, her conviction that she didn't want to lose anything turned against her, her unit was decimated, leaving her as the sole survivor, and now this. She's going to be heartbroken when she finds out Henry has married someone else.
