To all my little heroes…
(Even poor George who I also even admittedly forgot was there too 😅) Well deserved stars, all of you!
late to the party but i ADOREEEEEE becky and damian's friendship.
they're not talked about enough and it makes me sad.
becky being the only other female character close to damian's age who has the ability to get a rise out of him is one of the reasons why i like her so much.
and i enjoy their playful banter. it's so cute!
and ofc as a damianya enjoyer, i love love love becky's constant teasing. and the way she's usually just joking but damian takes her words seriously. it's so adorable 😭
also, we love damian accepting that he is, in fact, jealous and learning to embrace it throughout the chapter. this child has more growth than i will ever have and i respect him for that.
cuties!!!!!! ༎ຶ‿༎ຶ i love them so much!!!!!
no TV show in the world captures the essence of owning a large dog the way Spy x Family does. bc I also have to step over my large dog bc she insists on walking in my path whenever possible.
I CAN READ THIS, AND I WILL! LET’S GOOOOOOO!
omg was not on my 2024 bingo that I’m actually gonna read Melinda’s set for Anya
FRIST CARD: FOUR OF CUPS (the past)
that’s symbolizes Anya past implicating on her present, the cart indicates a need to experiences something new that brings joy and fills this empty space, something we see in our little girl eyes and i’m happy to see she’s doing good cuz in the past she certainly was a person that spends their days with their head down.
SECOND CARD: DEATH (the present)
The upright Death tarot card symbolizes transformation and the beginning of something new. It represents closing a chapter, leaving past experiences behind, we can think about Anya maturing and liberating from the trauma! Well in relationship (anya question) suggests the relationship may be stuck in a stagnant or unproductive dynamic, what we definitely can see, she tell his mother that he bullies her
THIRD CARD: THREE OF SWORDS (hidden influences)
The unseen problem huh? There’s a lot of them, well Donovan, Twilight, Operation Stixs… etc etc….
Whenever this card appears in a reading, it indicates conflict, disappointment, and misunderstanding (Well that’s definitely is the case), maybe Damian is definitely gonna be sad about why her approach to him, we know this is real cuz Damian already say before about people approaching him just because he is a Desmond and we know Anya have the same goal, but no worries is gonna be difficult but it can be resolved (they need to talk about this) !!!!
FORTH CARD: THE STAR (ANYA)
The Star in the upright position symbolizes hope, inspiration, and peace for the future. BUT is in the reversed position, so Anya reflects the feelings of hopelessness, confusion, and doubt as her navigate life's challenges and question circumstances. We see Melinda like that, and surprisingly Anya feel empty for her!
(So cute Anya being the star)
FIFTY CARD: TEN OF PENTACLES (the influence of others)
What kinds of external influences are dominating the situation? Well all of them! This card is important because it influences how others close to the Querent feel about the situation. AND GUESS ITS ALL RIGHT! This is a very positive card, and its positivity indicates that the path of challenges and difficulties has already been traveled, and now is the time to reap what is deserved. INNN THE RELATION WAAAAY (remember Anyas question not just because you know… i’m a shipper) is gonna be an harmony between them, whit a lot of happiness, cuties!
SIXTH CARD: ACE OF CUPS (what Anya have to do)
We see he is receiving, It’s often represents sadness, loss, and frustration, signaling difficulty in connecting. We know Damian is a difficult person, Anya have to deal with his feelings, is an important thing to do cuz if she don’t, they will not be together.
SEVENTH CARD: THREE OF WANDS (final results)
This last card is important because it takes into account all the six previous cards in its response. Here, we have an indicator of what the final resolution to the problem will be.
In this spread, the energy here is one of movement, so Anya cannot (and will not) stay still and she cannot try to handle everything alone.
The card indicates complicity, true love, and a strong connection. Sooo don't worry, as the frendship is real, and they will overcome it together.
SHE KNOWS!
SORRY MY ENGLISH IS KINDA BAD SO CAN YOU GUYS PLEASE FORGIVE ANY ERRORS IN THE TEXT? I was so exited to reed this, if you need tarot read dm me 🫶
I'm so sorry to disturb your scrolling but I'm going so feral over the sxf reveal...
Loid discovering this whole time, this child was going above and beyond the mental & cognitive abilities of her age just to help him. This toddler he thought of as a slug worked overtime trying to reach his goal. Anya thinking Loid would get rid of her, as so many others did, but Loid just feeling sorry for her. She was a victim and that's how he's gonna see that. Yor who's on the edge of her seat on whether Loid will accept her,
Discovering he's just like her—giving up on a normal life, concealing it from the world, including the people they share a roof with to protect the greater good—just as he learns the same thing from the other side.
Each of them is an abonormal, estranged liar; and in this tiny group everyone's an abonormal, estranged liar. They've lied to each other, since that's just how the world works, but none of them actually became a part of it. Within the Forger household, the Thorn Princess, Twilight and the mind reader will be CELEBRATED, not tolerated.
Rewatched two episodes of SPYXFAMILY and realised how close yor was to truly losing her shit
When she's sitting alone at Camilla's party in ep2, after she's been mocked for being single by the only 3 non-related people she could say she knows, she thinks that everything would be ok if everyone in the room was dead.
Yor Briar was this close to giving up on her pretense of normality. She felt the pressure of conformity and for a fleeting moment felt that it was too much, and landed at the conclusion that life would be easier, less pressured, if everyone troublesome died
Yor Briar was this close to giving up on her humanity.
But when Loid shows up, she's stunned out of that momentary reverie, because Loid, even in that short time, has become a person she can trust, someone she can depend on even at the very last minute. When she starts living with Loid and Anya, she slowly comes to terms with her desire for a family (aside from Yuri) and from the latest chapters, she finally feels safe enough to have nurture her love and admiration for Loid, and a pure maternal instinct for Anya, who isn't even her real daughter.
Yor Briar was one rational thought away from losing control of her assassin instincts, but Yor Forger is unapologetically, unashamedly protective of her family.
on twilight's workmates
i think fiona as a supporting character is important because surprisingly, it is only through her perspective where we can explicitly see how twilight and loid are beginning to merge. she knows how twilight operates, knows when he's just projecting a fake persona, so fiona clocks it when twilight is beginning to actually show genuine feelings for his fake family.
sylvia is not the character for this -- while she represents the mission side of things, i think she's known all along that twilight is bound to be compromised, and (my hot take is that) she's not really against it. she overworks twilight to the bone, but when she sees twilight with his fake family, she always has that fond look on her face (as far as i remember); she relishes over twilight's awkward affection for his family. she had been a parent and a wife once; she knows how easy it is to fall in love with your family, and perhaps she wishes the same for twilight as well.
in fact, the one who calls out twilight frequently over his genuine feelings for his fake family, are franky and fiona. (interestingly, they come from two perspectives: franky coming from concern for his friend, fiona coming from... jealousy i guess?) never sylvia.
More in depth analysis about the Spy x Family Manga Cover Chairs and Bonus Artworks (Or me just overthinking Endo’s decisions in everything and as always long post, please bear with me)
So I wanted to talk about something that I noticed about the various designer chairs that is featured on all manga covers.
Endo did say that he thought about how each chair matches the personality of the character, regarding it’s style, design or the color.
But I like to talk about something different about the chairs-it’s size or the seating capacity and how it reflects the characters relationship with others or their views about relationships. Also, I’m going to share something significant about the comedic bonus arts that also feature the chairs.
This focus mainly about Loid, Yor and Anya‘s Chair (including Fiona’s Chair) and the bonus illustrations that came with it.
Volume 1-Loid’s Chair: Le Corbusier LC2
There are two versions of this chair in the manga/anime, the love seat and the one seater. Loid is seated in the one seater chair in this cover, it means no one can sit there with him that reflects how reluctant he was in letting other people in his life. He wasn’t open for relationships (You can notice that those who are like him, intelligence assets; Franky, Fiona, Handler all sit in one seating capacity chair).
The bonus artwork was Anya sitting on the chair copying his pose. She’s the most fitting person to be in this seat because she can see through Loid’s mind, she basically knows who he really is and she likes him for that. Anya was fond of spies and she was excited about being part of his mission.
Volume 2-Anya’s Chair: Marshmallow Sofa
Anya’s chair has a large seating capacity and she was sitting at the middle, waiting for the empty spots on her both sides to be occupied. This depicts Anya’s anticipation for forming relationship with other people, about her wanting parents, a family, to be there for her.
The bonus artwork was drunk Yor lying face flat on Anya’s chair. This artwork, for me, reflects Yor’s unwavering affection for Anya and Anya’s appreciation of Yor. Even drunk, she’s determined to protect her, as if she was her real daughter as seen during the castle chapter. She is fond of Anya.
Volume 3-Yor’s Chair: La Chaise (Featuring Fiona’s Heart Cone Chair)
This is the chair I wanted to talk about and I have to use Fiona’s Chair for this analysis for Endo said that Fiona is designed to be Yor’s contrast and we can clearly see it in their chairs.
The seating capacity of Yor and Fiona’s chair greatly differ. Yor’s chair was big, Endo pointed how it didn’t even fit the cover, and even though Fiona’s chair is big too, she’s the only person who could sit in it. Other people can fit Yor’s chair but not with Fiona. I analyze this as Yor being open to genuine relationships and selfless while Fiona being closed off and selfish.
We know Yor’s motivation for being an assassin was for Yuri, for the sake of other people, and what is Fiona’s motivation? Clearly it was mainly for Twilight to marry her, love her and it was evidently show with all that stuff hiding behind her chair. I’m sure she experienced a lot of traumatic stuff that led to her being a spy but I don’t see other praise worthy and selfless motivations from her that was aside Twilight’s affection. Don’t get me wrong, she’s an interesting character and she isn't a bad person but I’m not really a fan of her personality just like I don’t like Yuri’s obsession with her sister.
In Yor however, she has nothing under or behind her chair. Just that blood that wasn’t even behind or below her chair. She wasn’t faking anything about her personality. It’s true that she accepted her marriage to preserve her assassin job but she genuinely wanted to marry Loid because he was the one who acknowledged her selflessness and that was enough for her to completely entrust her life to him. She welcomed Loid and Anya to her life because her longing for a companion to share her life with is as big as the size of her chair.
The bonus art in Volume 3 was Loid sitting on her chair. Despite the comedic set up of these illustrations, I think the people who tend to sit on the chair on the bonus arts were the ones who gets the person on the cover the most.
That is why Anya is in Loid’s (Because she can read his mind) Why Yor is in Anya's (Because Yor lost her parents at a young age too and she knows how to care for Anya because she did that to Yuri) and why Loid is in Yor’s chair (Because Loid understood her self sacrifice because he too, is the same as her) Also why Anya and Bond are in the bonus of Volume 4 because the two of them get each other, being both experimented on.
I also have some analysis about Volume 5-12 and the bonus artworks as well, but I might post them in another time since I haven't seen the translated bonus artworks in Becky and Emile and Ewen's Volumes.
But let me know if this analysis makes sense to you.
