People in real life might not always be understanding, but lots of people around here are. Sometimes you might have to explain it to people you trust. :/ I believe you and understand, if nothing else.
Thanks. You're right, it's probably easy to find people on here to talk to. I guess just feel really ignorant for not understanding how to describe myself to begin with. This whole crisis is basically coming up because I have gotten to the point where I need to explain it to my parents because it's putting a strain on our relationship, but that's ridiculously more difficult than it sounds. Explaining anything to them is hell. They see everything I go through as rebellion or a phase or something I do to hurt them....Even though I'm 28 and have been an independent household for years. Uhg. So in all likelihood, I'm about to destroy my family relationships no matter what I do.

I'm sure your cats will adapt. My first two cats back home HATED the little orange kitten we got a couple years ago, and now one of them is basically orange kitty's big brother. It's adorable.
