jeannie knocks on eddie's door. she isn't trying to be quiet, but every cell in her body screams at her to be careful. out of fear, sure, but also out of shame. eddie could have been killed. his survival was lucky - nothing else.

CRICKET RUNS HER HANDS ALONG EDDIE'S COLLAR, GRIPPING IT AND PULLING HIM IN CLOSE. she kisses him, first on the neck, then moving up to the lips. it's a slow, deep kiss, her tongue down his throat, her hands wondering all over him. the kind of kiss she usually reserves for fucking. but they're standing on her doorstep. supposed to be saying goodnight. she pulls away with a sigh. "you can come in if ya want," she says, turning her back to him and unlocking the door. "but don't get no ideas 'bout staying the night."
