Beautiful

thank you darling

If my shoes could tell tales

They'd tell the stories of

How many miles they've been scraped

Against the hard concrete

Of the sticky gums that have been

Attached on them

Mint, fruity, and non-flavored ones

And with each step they take

They wither into dirt and pieces

Not having a single memory of

Where they come from

But my shoes would say that

They do not regret the steps they've taken

And if they fall apart and

Get thrown in the trash the next day

At lest they know

They have walked over a billion steps

Probably more a lot of shoes have taken

In their lifetime.
