Took an impromptu trip to Anacortes today for Fidalgo Artisan Yarn’s 9th anniversary sale. 🥳 Showed off my Synaptic Wrap (knit in Brilliant Blue of their Rosario Sport), acquired yarn, bought books instead of lunch, and scampered back to San Juan Island (running only half an hour late)

I’m excited for knitters to make a Synaptic Wrap for themselves, to see how cables weave across the width and run along the sides, to find that a centered double decrease on the wrong side is not so hard, to finish and hear a quiet voice say “yer a wizard now.”

My wider, republished Synaptic Wrap is now on Ravelry!
I could write about how my design was inspired by a stitch that might be 200 years old. I could say again that this wider 15 in / 38 cm design is a better wrap. But, the best thing I can include is a knitter’s comment from earlier today:

It’s happening! On Monday (December 18) I’m republishing my Synaptic Wrap pattern.
It just wasn’t wide enough to feel like a wrap, so I included a third skein of this marvelous yarn. It’s now 50% wider, and I tweaked instructions so knitters can easily make theirs as wide as they like. 😀
