Short Christmas Headcanon

Shout out to @synnefo-nefeli for helping me with this one!

So you know how it’s been like, 10+ years since Lana Skye was imprisoned? I like to think that by the end of SoJ, she’s served her time and is finally free. She’s also working towards becoming a detective!

Now I imagine that when she’s freed, it’s around Christmas. So I feel like the first Christmas she had when she was free was spent with Phoenix, Miles, Trucy, and her sister, Ema!

I just love the idea of how overwhelmed with joy Lana would be to finally be with the people that saved her and helped her become a better person. And how happy she is to finally see her sister again. I like to think Phoenix would gush about Trucy to her. And there would be jokes about having “two chief prosecutors.” I love the idea that Lana and Miles would still hold the highest of respect to each other. And Ema tells Lana about all her forensic stories.

Imagine Lana meeting Apollo and Athena, and truly realizing how far Phoenix has come. And is just so happy to be with the people she loves. (Bonus if Phoenix and Miles tell her about their relationship and she’s overjoyed to hear the news).

The atmosphere would be warm and nostalgic and so full of love. Lana and Ema would hold each other and cry at finally being able to spend a real Christmas together. I like to think the Skye sisters consider everyone to be family!

For the Director's Cut thing: Center Stage! You can pick the section :D

Oh it’s been a while since I thought of that one! I remember wanting to toy with Klavier and Apollo making a sex tape, because it struck me as something that Klavier would DEFINITELY be super into and that Apollo would need some convincing to get on board with. But after thinking about it I liked the idea of flipping those tropes and having Apollo be much more insistent in bed. 

And BOY I’m glad I did because I LOVE me some forward, needy Apollo. 

Another thing I toyed with in that fic was the perspective, trying to write it in a way that it’s told from the perspective of the screen during playback. Talking about people talking offscreen, reaching out of sight for things, the camera shaking. It was really interesting to do. My goal was to try and make readers feel like they were actually watching the sex tape. :P 

Overall it was a super fun thing to write...I think it came together pretty quickly. Maybe just one or two writing sessions from what I remember. It was so entertaining that it just flowed really well.

FFXV (as it exists now) kinda does Luna dirty in that the game barely gives you insight to her unless you do the extravehiculars - Kingsglaive etc. and tbh, I came out KG shipping her with Nyx as they had more of a romantic connection than the game ever showed us between her and Noct. And of course they fridged her (sorta) but also they divided her personality between Cindy, Iris, and Arenea. The first two I can kinda see getting with Noct and Noct actually interested

Yeah tbh I went into KG with a vague knowledge of people shipping Luna with, among other people, Nyx - and came out of it actually kinda confused because I saw they had chemistry, but not romantic chemistry.

Since I only got into XV well after all of the hype about its origins in 13, I literally can’t say I know anything about who Luna was originally ‘supposed’ to be according to either the creators or anyone else.

I would have preferred it if she’d been able to show some more informal emotion in the game, but... she does appear to know that she’s going to her death, or at the very least, that what she’s doing might kill her. That’s gonna put a damper on the mood. If nothing else, it’d be hard to take pleasure in the small things and the personal things when she knows she’s gonna have to give everything up in order to fulfil her duty - which sucks, and is shitty, but it does explain why she’s like that.

I am with you in the “I can see why Noct/Luna is a thing” but I don’t ship them. I feel that Noct likes the idea of her but if it wasn’t for the pretense of their marriage being a bargaining chip for the peace, I don’t really see them being together outside of a friendship like his fathers and Luna’s mother’s friendship. I can see Noct and Luna being brought up to know that marriage out of duty is a possibility/knowing that love post-marriage is possible but the thing is the game didn't make me care about their romance. It made me care about their friendship because Luna is the only one who really knows what Noct is going through, but she's more of a coach to help him with this prophecy that they both know has dire stakes. However, the real love I see is between Noct and the bros (I hc Noct as being demisexual tbh) and I had more visceral feelings towards his relationship with them, than I do with Noct and Luna.

Except... that isn’t what I said at all????

I was saying that I get how people ship Noctis and Sarah but I don't see it myself.

If you look back through my other posts and p. much the majority of XV ship stuff I’ve reblogged, it’s... I ship Noct/Luna. A lot!

I agree however that I don’t think that either of them were happy with the idea of their marriage being used as a bargaining chip. That’s mostly it, though, because the way I read into the canon is that I can believe that they’re able to be in love, even though it was - compared to a lot of the other relationships - lacking in screen time.
