no but when i say more queer tv shows where being queer isn’t part of the plot at all i don’t mean i don’t ever want to watch a coming out/coming off age story at all; it means i want to be able to choose between watching that and watching a campy murder mystery or a horror or a syfy show where queer relationships and characters are treated as normal and valid without it having to be part of the struggle at all; i want a romcom filled with ‘will they won’t they’ moments not because someone is unsure of their sexuality but because the leads are just dumb like in other romcoms; i want the system to be saturated with actual choice across the board and not just ‘heartfelt coming off age story’ and ‘painful real trauma’ both centred around coming out
