Usually I connect songs or full albums with books I have read listening to them and they stay connected like that forever. However, I just listened to Nightwish’s version of “Over the hills and far away” again after a very long time - might have been over 10 years.

In the past I was always thinking about T.A.Barron’s “The great tree Avalon” or more specifically Tamwyn and Elli.

Buuuut I just couldn’t stop thinking about Percabeth. Just like, percy being abducted at the beginning of TLH and both of them missing each other and only thinking about being back in each other’s arms. Ooooor something happening to Percy and the mist screwing everything up and he has to flee to Alaska and Annabeth has to stay in New York and they have to wait for 10 years to each other again. Maybe even to make it even better a Count of Monte Cristo AU…

Changing - All of us, all living things, have the potential to change. Binding - The strongest bonds are of the heart. Protecting - The best way to protect something is to set it free. Naming - For a true name holds true power. Leaping - Everything is connected to everything else. Eliminating - Every living thing is precious somehow. Seeing - The heart can see things invisible to the eye.

I’ve been wanting to try my hand at an aesthetic, so what better subject than a beloved series that helped shape who I am as a person. I read it first when I was very young, and it was even more enjoyable re-reading it this year as a(n alleged) adult. 

Thanks, Mr. Barron, for sharing Merlin’s lost years with the lot of us.
