Lyle got me feeling a TYPE of way
sleep eepy detectives 🔎🔎🔎
I want the new protos to be freaks. Not like that, but like "Wearing the face of angels to lure you in" freaks.
I want them to be creepy and weird. I want them to be discomforting. I want them to make me anxious when I have to choose dialogue options.
Just a Little Something about how long Zane was dead for in Ninjago between Season 3 and 4
In Ninjago Decoded Zane said that he downloaded all 74 episodes plus the holiday special of Jay's game show, 'The Ultimate Ninja Challenge' (a.k.a 75 episodes)
Taking in the schedules for American Ninja Warrior and Wipeout, which appear to be the inspiration for Jay's game show.
American Ninja Warrior is a half hour long show that airs four episodes in a day and another four the following week as a full season (at least when it first came out, IDK about now).
Wipeout is an hour long show (with commercials) that airs a new episode, once a week.
Understanding these two details:
At Most - eight episodes per season, at one season per year with 75 episodes total equals a little more then 9 years (to be precise, 9 complete seasons with 3 episodes of the tenth being aired)
At Least - one episode per week with 75 episodes total equals almost 18 months a.k.a. a year and a half (to be precise, 1 year, 5 months and 3 weeks)
In Compromise for the two shows with a leaning towards the Wipeout influence: Let's say, two episodes per week with 75 episodes total equals 9 months and 2 weeks (this is on the idea of Jay leaving before the filming of the 76th episode).
~
So obviously we don't get a ten year time skip between Seasons 3 and 4 and I clearly haven't factored in how long it took to set up Jay's game show in the first place, however, I don't think it's that far outside the realm of possibility that the time skip was at least somewhere between 9 and a half months and 18 months. This certainly gives enough time for moss to grow on Zane's statue and for angst among the Ninja Team (<- Including Nya, Pixal and Skylor).
Enough time for Jay to get his own game show.
Enough time for Nya to gather what she needs to fix the Bounty.
Enough time for Cole to get a job without people knowing who he is.
Enough time for Lloyd to be with his father before Garmadon's Season 4 self-sacrifice.
Enough time for Zane to rebuild himself only to be kidnapped by Ronin and sold to Master Chen.
Enough time for Pixal to be kidnapped as well and held in Chen's dungeon where the Mechanic pried her open and took her apart piece by piece.
Enough time where Skylor's training was put into overdrive as she had to watch her father put every last detail into place for the Elemental Masters, like a spider preparing its web for the flys.
Enough time for Kai to get his own apartment where he exists alone with thoughts that are far to loud and condemning for a protector who lost his brother, to craft a place for himself in an underground fighting ring that won't ask questions, where he can fight and forget, only to be constantly plagued by his every waking moment asking, 'why wasn't it me', and thinking, 'it should have been me'.
Maybe someone else has written about this, and done it better too but….
After Amy’s party and everyone is going back home, Tails is telling everything that happened during the ‘investigation’ to Sonic, since he did miss most of everything.
Sonic is liking Tails’ enthusiasm and he takes mental note of what Tails’ is saying. Making sure to get a round of Super Monkey Ball with Vector and Knuckles; talk to Tails’ that despite that they were playing a role, that he did help Rouge and Blaze, surprisingly, steal a piece of jewelry; and that Shadow doesn’t know how to use computers, but will be going to a concert, a Hot Honey concert, with Amy.
‘Wonder how that’ll go,’ imagining him surrounded by a bunch of screaming fans.
“Hehe,” Sonic chuckled. Tails couldn’t help but let a little laugh escape since it’s an odd image.
“Sounds like the party before ol’ Egghead showed up was a blast!, shame I was dead the whole time,” Sonic said.
“Yeah it was really fun! Oh! Oh! I almost forgot, but another thing is that Shadow said he and I would take a train sometime!”
That caught him off guard, but Sonic didn’t see much of a problem if they were alone together. ‘Better than him and Rouge alone. She might make him steal from big jewelry stores.’
“Train, huh? Sure you two could handle that on your own?” Sonic teased ruffling Tails’ head.
Tails pushed Sonic’s hand off him and responded“As long as it’s not another Eggman train, I think we’ll be fine. Besides all we would do is talk and drink coffee.”
“Coffee?”
“Yeah, with marshmallows. I don’t think he’s had them together before.”
Sonic let out a nervous chuckle, “Hahaha…yeah, he probably hasn’t. Might be a bit of a coffee snob. Ya’ know….just drinks it straight or at least the beans…”
“Seems like he is the type. Anyways I’m gonna go freshen up and try to contact Shadow for our train trip.” Tails stretched out while walking to the bathroom.
Waiting ‘till Tails closed the door, Sonic picked up his phone and dialed Shadow’s number.
After a few waiting tones, Shadow answered.
“Hello?”
“Hey, Shadow! How are you?” Sonic asked while walking out the front door, keeping it ajar to watch out in case Tails stepped out of the bathroom.
“Hm, fine. You?”
“Fine, Tails was telling me everything that happened on the train. Mentioned how you and him were gonna go on a train sometime.”
“Oh, yes. He seemed enthusiastic about going on one again and wanted to drink coffee with me. I wasn’t aware he drank coffee at such a young age.” Shadow replied with a questioning tone near the end. He is becoming aware that kids his age shouldn’t drink caffeine, unless in soda, but maybe there were exceptions for kids like Tails?
“Yeeeaaahhh…..about that…. He doesn’t actually drink any and I mean any caffeine so wha-” Sonic said before Shadow interrupted.
“He doesn’t? That’s good, I think. so why does he want some? Especially with marshmallows?”
Rubbing a hand over his face he answered with a groan, “It’s because I give him a cup of hot chocolate with marshmallows and say it’s coffee. I mean, a kid his age shouldn’t be drinking any coffee. But Tails especially. He already loses sleep when he gets working on his inventions, so adding caffeine would make him lose days of sleep.”
Shadow let out a small chuckle hearing that. He didn’t know Tails well enough, but he has heard and even seen him a few times push himself to exhaustion.
“I see. I’ll make sure he doesn’t get any.”
“Phew, thanks! I’ll give ya some of the stuff I have here in case the train you go on doesn’t have any. Oh and marshmallows too.”
“Okay. Does Tails have a date in mind for when we should go?” Shadow asked.
“He’ll call ya’ in a bit over all that. Unless he hits the hay early, then maybe tomorrow.” Sonic responded while looking at the hallway.
“I see, is there anything else I should hide from Tails?” Shadow sarcastically asked.
Rolling his eyes, Sonic replied, “Nope, that’s all.”
“Okay, well goodbye.”
“Wait!”
“Yes?”
“So, you’re really going to a Hot Honey concert?” Sonic teased.
“Goodbye”

Chuckling, Sonic saw Tails come out of the bathroom. Tails let out a yawn while rubbing his eyes.
He may be a genius, but he was still a kid.
