Yes! Since it’s the proper Filipino grammar, you have to write everything out. My suggestion for you is that you listen to OPM first before you watch any teleseryes out there.

So, let’s start with grammar. If you go on Google Translate (which many people won’t recommend but it’s a great starting off point) and translate “in the mind’s eye”, it’ll probably translate badly back into English. So, you have to change the grammar of the entire sentence like this: “in the mind is eye”, which is really bad to look at as an English speaker but go with me on this. The Tagalog language doesn’t follow the same grammatical rules as the English language. It has it’s own set of rules that closely reseembles the Spanish language.

The to be verbs like “is” and “are” needs to be written out like this: “in the mind is eye”.

Here’s a few quotes that I’ve translated into Tagalog:

Kagandahan ay sa mata ng beholderBeauty is in the eye of the beholder

Ang kagandahan ay hindi lahatBeauty isn’t everything

Ang kagandahan ay malalin lamang ang balatBeauty is only skin deep

Mata ng ating isipanMind’s eye

Ito ay isang pag-iibigan pa rinIt’s still a romance

Kuwento tuald ng lumang bilang ng orasTale as old as time

Are you relearning Tagalog? Or are you teaching it online?

I actually understand it enough to be able to speak it again, but I prefer not to speak in Tagalog unless that it’s written down. If you want, I could give you some basics in the Tagalog language, like grammar and stuff. Once you get the basic grammar and other stuff down. The language will become easy to learn.
